The new girl has much better boobs too-and on display in Ep 1 of "Room at the top"(still on iPlayer)
55 minutes in, not that I checked 4 or 5 times of course
Quite nice but I preferred Maxine Peake's.55 minutes in, not that I checked 4 or 5 times of course
(Never thought the day would come when I started letching after Twink from dinnerladies.)
Great ep. Very emotional.
Although the Angel angel was erm..."confused"...if memory serves correctly, Angels can only move when not being looked at....so:
1-as oen of the biggest tourist attractions in the world, how the hell was NOBODY looking at the Statue of Liberty??!! Or notice it leaning over a building??!! Or notice it "walking" through NY (the thuds)
2- Why didnt River or the Doc just keep looking at the Angel after it took Rory??!!
I know the answers- it served the purpose of killing off the Ponds, but still, it didnt follow from what we were told in previous episodes.
Still a cracking episode though, I must admit it was quite emotional. A great send off for both Characters.

ETA - not my own work, I'm bored (no work) so my BA brain has kicked in & I've done some research tis moring to try & find some answers!
The Weeping Angels could move their victims back through time with a touch. They would then consume the potential energy from the lives the victims would otherwise have led. They could move people through both space and time, as Kathy was touched in London, but ended up in Hull in 1920; Billy Shipton was touched inside a parking garage and arrived in 1969 in an outdoor location; and the first time Rory was touched was in an archway in a park, and he arrived in a street; and the second time he was touched was in Grayle's cellar, and he arrived outside Winter Quay but in the same time period.
If they were sufficiently fed, however, the Angels would kill by sneaking up behind their victim and breaking their neck.
Due to the paradox created by Amy and Rory, the Doctor cannot travel back in time to visit them without destroying New York City - they poisioned the timelines.
No one knows why the SoL was able to move whilst being observed, possibly because it wasn't a 'real' angel, merely possessed by one?
Multiple times throughout the episode Angels are seen standing in groups or facing each other without their eyes covered, what we know of angels from past episodes would mean those angels would be permanently frozen as they are all able to see each other
They could also feed on other types of energy, such as radiation given off by a Galaxy class Star Liner or the electrical energy in electronics. This would cause lights to flicker, making it easier to use their quantum-locking - we have lights flickering as a common theme so far in this series...

I was quite surprised in the Xmas preview to see the new girl seems to be Victorian, rather than the space genius she played a few weeks ago. Wonder if they will work in a "family resemblence/ancestor" angle?
or, just maybe, she's just wearing Victorian clothes...Oh and Ali - glad you admitted that wasn't your work, I was about to mock your Galaxy-class nerdiness!

I too noticed that, one scene in particular inside the apartment block, had Rory being 'chased', as he entered the apartment the two Angels were left in the corridor 'looking' at each other. I commented while watching that they should now be never able to move again!im said:
Its a quantum thing. Something about the act of looking at them coalesces/freezes them in time/space.
I know, I know, like Quantum mechanics itself its best not to ask - just accept thats how they roll.
So that's how they get around, the crafty beggers.I know, I know, like Quantum mechanics itself its best not to ask - just accept thats how they roll.
Not sorry to see the end of the Ponds. They were becoming annoying. Rory was a bit part that had to end up having a major part and Karen Gillan replaced acting with stropping as far as I could tell.

or, just maybe, she's just wearing Victorian clothes...I was disgusted by the number of people that didn't realise the pictures were not fom Doctor Who but from Twilight! She looks nothing like Amy or Ossie
