This stuff? http://www.evanscooling.com/ Apparently Ed China works for them promoting the stuff at exhibitions. Not saying it's snake oil just that it explains why he included it in the programme.

More importantly - where was Paul? What has Phil the imposter done with him? And has Phil got a swanky number plate on his van like Paul does (did?). These are the questions that need answering!

Having had time recently to watch the latest crop of car related stuff on TV it is refreshing to watch Wheeler Dealers.
To have two hosts that can speak a language that is somewhere near the Kings English is very refreshing. To also hear problems and disappointments dealt with with a mildly sarcastic comment is also good.

CCR and the one based around selling salvage parts just amaze me with their hammed up acting and please the Mockney accents and pseudo threatening phrases just make you sound like total morons.

Mike and Ed keep it up,this weeks Triumph episode was particularly interesting.Just as a suggestion Ed doing a series on car maintenance and automotive engineering procceses in greater detail would be good, perhaps combined with Mike giving a general overview of the sales side of the motor trade and just looking at interesting stuff in the classifieds.

On a related note, those Halfords idents bookending the car stuff on Discovery are making me chuckle.

Odd that he removed triple carburettors from an injection engine though...
I seem to recall the injection set-up being notoriously unreliable on these so perhaps less surprising.

Yes, that was a bit of twist in the plot. It has been Paul for year now, he should be OK he always seemed the strong silent type.

This stuff? http://www.evanscooling.com/ Apparently Ed China works for them promoting the stuff at exhibitions. Not saying it's snake oil just that it explains why he included it in the programme.
I'm not mechanic, but why would increasing the engines operating temp make the fan run less, unless you changed the thermostat it would run more.

And why would the engine fan cause your car to use 10% more fuel.

Odd claims.

It's not going to increase the temp though? It just has a higher effective working temperature, meaning that it will still run at the temperature of the thermostat, just not suffer the problems that water has when it gets hot (expansion and associate pressurisation). That's how I understood it anyway.

As for the fuel benefits, maybe vs a viscous fan driven from the crank?

Like I said, not a mechanic.

But it reminds me of that 'wetter water' stuff and it's dubious benefits.

Compared to the idiot other two progs on offer, A agree WD is by comparison quite good.

However, after seeing what the TR6 cars were going for that he was viewing in the press, why did he not ask nearer £10k? I think it was worth much more than what he asked for it.

Indeed. I was playing the Tuesday night wd drinking game and I didn't know what to do! 2 fingers for Paul. How much for Phil?

Paul cone back!

Good episode. Think the sale was staged fairly well.

Agreed, but as I queried earlier, why such a low price? Currently there are three TR6s on the bay in the £10-11k bracket, I think two of them without a hood, just a tonneau. All three around the same age, and to be honest they do not look quite as nice as the one WD have just done. One of them has bad orange peel on the paint.....
