Well pretty boring in the end could of been more indepth with the iva test not a lot of the mechanical stuff, not a lot of info about the car and 1500 quid for second hand wheels and tyres i would what a brand new set for that.

I didn't think you could run cats with carbs?
Can't see why not?
Because carbs tend to spit unburned fuel down the pipes which destroys the catalyst.

I'm enjoying the new series. Enjoying the old drinking game.

Not surprised Mike is wearing more makeup than Pat Butcher but kinda gutted Edd joined in with the foundation. Look like a couple of Essex slags.

Looking forward to next week!

A nice car, but I could see what they were going to do from mike reading the advert (lean the engine for the test and chuck a couple of cats on) I wouldn't have bothered with the wheel/suspension mod myself.

Surely the filming for the test drive took place after mike had bought the car though. No one would let you do doughnuts on a test-drive!!!!

Wasn't the advert selling the car to Mike Brewer also on Pistonheads? May have to watch it again on the TivO

The car was described in the show as a 6.3 with 370 bhp. In that advert its a 5.7.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the vortex exhausts - they seemed a bit like snake oil to me!

Ah, so maybe the exhausts didn't work then and they had to put a whole new engine in to meet emissions.

No it passed with the re-jetted carb and new exhaust. The engine in the pics in the advert looks the same.

I thought it was an ok episode, definitely not their best. I preffered it when they were working on older/cheaper cars; I thought the show was supposed to be about home maintenance. Not everyone has £20k sitting about to spend on a kit-car!

Yes, but they TV program also said it was sold, which it plainly isn't.

Could have sold it to the dealer? They said they sold it for £23k and it's up for £29.

So how has it lost 0.6 of a litre?

I wouldn't have bothered with the wheel mod either.

Another thing they failed to mention about the IVA test is that most people remove all the bks required to pass it as soon as they get home! Although I understand why.
