It was a nice place and I want to like it, but it's several buildings next to each other to me - new house, daughter in the old bit, office, workshop, tower. The open kitchen and the skylight was nice though.
Yep.

If they had continued the ridge line of the bungalow into the new extension on the left hand side, and clad the whole build in one material, I like the sorched larch but that might have been too much for the whole building, it would have looked a lot more cohesive.

Last time it was on I spent most of it trying to work out whether the 911 parked in the background was a Turbo or a GT2, and getting annoyed that the fake bricks were stuck on in vertical columns.
Coincidently (or not) I saw this one for the first time on More 4 on Tuesday. Loved the horizontal kitchen window, appreciated the furnishing (though not to my taste) and also hated the way the fake bricks were arranged. What's wrong with herringbone?

If I was that bloke I would have gone mental. I design a pretty wonderful looking house, although in my opinion it should have all been finished in the burnt larch, then the missus goes and puts up 'art' everywhere.

Art my fking arse.

The head of the residents association needs shooting.

Bloody nimbys.

Can remember the disco floor, but not much else.

Gonna enjoy this one.

The panic in her voice as she was telling everyone not to panic!

Surely tanking is much more difficult than merely 'spray a bit of waterproof concrete'?

Time for the reveal, think I'm going to like it.

Whilst I can admire them for what they have accomplished, I certainly would not like to live there.

I didn't see that one the first time around.

I must have missed it, but why did they think their garden was a good place to eat and have a fireplace? I am pretty sure that house was built in the Uk!?! And how sorry did I feel for the people who could see that garden with the purple/pink etc...

Disco floor? Interesting idea at least.

Kinda liked that one, even with the quirks.

The explanation for some of the strangeness made things more understandable - each family member being given one proper luxury - with the disco floor presumably being both the mum and daughters. Spa in the basement was cool, my kinda space.

Garden was very odd. Not my thing but each to their own...

Only thing I couldn't abide in any way shape or form were the acrylic bricks. Why go to all that trouble to lay them in a way real bricks would never be laid. Bloody strange and in my mind unforgivable.

A friend who lived nearby during the build (and is a very patient bloke) said they weren't the nicest neighbours. I think all the "we've all made friends" stuff was for the cameras only.

Quite glad the last two have been "Revisited" episodes, as I've managed to get caught up. I still quite like the wooden house on the Isle of Wight, especially the opening window wall in the kitchen. I still detest what they did with the mews house in London.

Next!

The underground house with the disco floor next week, with the "Ricky's had an accident with the digger!" classic.
I've not seen that one.

Missed that.
Might go and have a look on 4od. Any idea how far into the program it was?
