That was excellent. I really hope Jeff Lynne does that Wembley gig. I would be first in line for tickets!

So Grimshaw is slightly up last quarter, but still over 1m down on Chris Moyles.

I'm still surprised Chris Moyles hasn't appeared on Absolute or some other radio station.
What's Moyles up to these days? Too young to retire and long term personal friendship he destroyed

Still doing Jesus Christ Superstar, but not much else apparently.

Given he has a £450k HMRC tax bill plus legal fees plus maybe any other more recent tax years unpaid tax he might actually have to become a motor trader but let's hope he makes a better success of it than he tried to convince HMRC ....

Although at times it was repetitive the CM show was just right for me at the time.

I guess I've grown up now (30 this year) so in the morning it's Radio 4 , or Radio 6. Have nothing against grimy but he isn't targeting me and I find it so dull and if I want to listen to hipity hoppy music there better london DAB morning shows (which have the same zoo type set up and so I enjoy the characters on those channels)

Not all of the Djs but all of the women except Annie Mac, ironically R1s best are the eldest of the bunch.

I have given up on Radio 1 daytime now, tried Radio 2 for a while but cant get on with Evans, don't dislike him, but just don't really want to listen to him??? don't mind Ken Bruce but can leave the rest.

I upgraded my mobile contract and now have unlimited internet, which I can connect to the van and car, also the home HiFi's, and have found Team Rock Radio, Its AD free and by the guys behind Metal Hammer and Classic Rock magazines. The DJ's aint amazing, but the music is awesome all the time for me, love it smile

I listen to it a lot just a shame that interviews have to be time restrained and some interviewers don't understand how to challenge certain individuals. Overall find its on most of the time.

And of course Annie Mac

Tried that for a few weeks, but the politics bored me to tears and that's all they seem to talk about so I gave up on it.
Most days of the week it's a podcast or a recorded show from late night Radio 1 for me.

I normally listen to Radio 1 while I wash the car on a Saturday morning but for the last month or two the content has been absolute garbage. What has happened to it - its either infantile and simply boring or at times is just plain base. Are Radio 1 aiming to capture the 5 year old audience to bring down the average listening age stats?

Yes. Try BBC 6 Music, it's ace.

What about your local BBC radio county station?
I've got Peachy in the BBC Radio Berkshire - he sits in to cover R2 news or travel time to time.

Another vote here for Absolute. I think the 80s and 90s stations both use Christian O'Connell for the morning show. I find him very likable and enjoy the range of music. "Love Will Tear us Apart" was excellent this morning - bet it's been some years since Radio 1 has had that on their playlist!
