probably Kiss or Radio Mediocrity...... frown
Both the same thing non? Kisstory is good, but the rest of the airtime is just a bad clone of capital fm, kiss wasnt even a good pirate station.

My hopes of music are pinned onto rinse at the moment, they could turn into everything kiss didnt... by the time they do though i will have probably lost interest in new stuff and will be recollecting the good old days of raindance and bagleys, you younguns havent got a clue you know, we all started it off yadda yadda hehe

You're probably right, I'm not looking forward to trying out either but seem to not enjoy listening to my own CD's etc unless it's the evening (i.e. after 7 and after my commute)

Radio Hauraki for me. NZ based rock station with a refreshingly direct set of presenters. Of course the traffic and weather is always way off, but you can't have it all.

Just haven't bothered putting the radio on at all this week on the morning commute. I find Mills a bit irritating. There is no way I will be listening to Grimmy so bye bye Radio 1 from me.

Still listen to Scott Mills- the only bearable thing on R1 at the moment.

listened to Greg James on the way home today, he had the '10 minute takeover' segment - the first song was Motorhead Ace of Spades but they couldn't play it as they don't have it in their 'system' banghead ... A pretty good sign that R1 isn't for me for much longer and I'm 27!

Not to mention the 'celebrities' they are using to promote Grimshaw's show - One Direction and Justin Bieber. Gives you an idea of the direction that the station is going...

Alternated between Mills and silence - I don't really mind him, but I'm so used to Moyles in the morning he just didn't work.

Have given Greg James in the afternoon a chance and I just can't live with him - too irritating and amateur sounding. Will give Grimmy a chance, but I suspect it will be CDs for me, which is annoying - I didn't listen to Moyles for music, just for a bit of easy chatter on the way to work.

Radio 5 as it's the only station I can get. Albeit with a lot of static. Really must check the connections on the radio. It's been over a year now

Got in car, turned on Radio 1, realised it was Scott Mills, went to iPod and found Pantera, drove to work in happiness.
Top work.

This.

Next monday, will be MP3/CD. I cannot stand Nick Grimshaw (As someone said in the other thread, he is perhaps being put in this slot as a 'fall guy' and I sense there could well be truth in this) and Radio 2 is for those who have given up on life (they are trying to play to such a large audience that to be able to play music that doesn't offend anyone, they have to play safe (read 'dull') with every record), and the topics are boring to the extreme. (I listened briefly the other day and it was an interview with a guy who was explaning the history of the naming of Middlesex, Sussex etc)

Sean Keaveny on 6 Music is more than making up for the Chris Moyles ending show for me, especially as he talks to "Professor Coxy" every week.

I will listen to Scott this week and then thats it, The Radio 1 Breakfast Show is dead as far as I am concerned.

Dick Grimeshaw is shocking, going to be the death of Radio 1 I feel.

RIP Radio 1, it has been great but sadly the suits upstairs have killed it.
I have had to reprogram button number 1 on my car radio. when the traffic report kicks in to let me know that there is a hold up 50 miles away I seem to instinctively press button 1 to shut it up, It is now set to 108.0 (silence) to make me tune to another channel.

Goodbye Radio 1, as said, it was great.

I am considering a dab walkman to plug into my work car radio, im worried that i am going to enter myself into the world of crap reception and eternal frustration though.

I'm a 6 Music convert.

Honeymoon's over though.

2 years ago it had a real connection to comedy/stand-up with Adam & Joe, Stephen Merchant, John Richardson et al. Now it seems to have lost it's sense of humour apart from Keaveny. And he isn't as funny all the time.

For my tastes, it's still the best fit between X-Factor chart ste, new music, nostalgia and the dull beige pop of R2.

I am getting used to radio 2 now with Chris E. Seams to be reasonable for a bit.

Bit annoying as I now have a two hour drive to work and quite liked a bit of moyles. frown

Oh well, think I may have to get myself an Ipod or Iphone and work out how to use it properley!
