I can only really listen to Scott Mills now. Spent a year driving a few hours a week and Grimshaw/Cotton are the most annoying hosts ever. One thing that seriously pisses me off is that Cotton delays any new song with "So I've been listening to these for a while" , does that really work for sales or does she just want to become some Hipster Queen? Needless to say I'm going DAB for more choice.

It would be so fitting if they saw an uptick in listener base during these two weeks!

They won't as it's half term and the 12 year olds won't make their parents listen to R1!

12 year olds don't listen to R1 anyway... that's why they sacked Chris Moyles in the first place. He wasn't attracting a young audience.

Guess what, kids still don't listen to R1 because they're either in school learning or in bed, and the rest of the time the live on facebook streaming music off spotify or youtube.

I cannot stand Grimshaw. I'd rather remove my own spleen with a rusty bread knife than listen to him, or watch any of his st tv shows.
I didnt like Moyles either. I thought his team were more amusing than him in all honesty.

These days I listen to TalkSport or perhaps Huw Stevens if a weekend and I'm driving.

And Grimshaw down again in the latest released ratings. Although he is doing what is asked: Shedding old listeners and gaining (less) younger ones.

Chris Evans is just under 10m now.

Excellent news, serves the out of touch BBC right.

There must be millions of us in the 'forgotten' generation who are stuck in the odd place of being out of touch with most of Radio 1 (Zane Lowe and maybe Scott Mills excepted) but too young for Radio 2 (although I do listen to Chris Evans most mornings).

Clearly.

Do many teenagers even listen to radio? Most of the ones I see are all using their phones as MP3 players.

For me Radio 1 starts getting interesting at 8pm but 1Xtra in the evenings with mistajam is far better.

You presumably don't include Sundays in that? the 'Dan & Phil' show is an excellent example of how bad radio 1 can be, and how it has been dumbed down for stupid people, rather than just targeted towards a younger audience.
It really is dire.

That's the one after the chart show on Sundays. Its had mixed reviews but did pick up quite a good award last year - http://www.sonygoldenheadphones.com/

It's bloody terrible if you're not a 12 year old girl glued to facetube permanently.

It's like they had a competition to find the two people least suited to radio and gave them a show. Amateur hour it very much is.

Bring back the old school Sunday surgery when people used to complain about warts on their todgers and boshing their best mates girlfriends. Now that was proper Sunday evening driving back from the parents entertainment! hehe

Used to listen to the Chris Evans show but now love Shaun Keaveny on BBC Radio 6.
