John Ratzenberger from Cheers in The Empire Strikes Back. Think he was in Superman as well.
And every Pixar film.

Goodfellas, the 'you're a funny guy 'scene. The owner of the restaurant comes asks Tommy (devito) about his bar tab. Tommy gets annoyed at the owner and smacks him over the head with a bottle, Tommy then stares at a waiter who has a hawaiian shirt on and asks him 'what are you looking at?'. That guy is Jim Carrey.

Was suprised recently when watching Usual Suspects for the millionth time, that the black cop (with the interest in Keyser Soze) looked familiar. Realised he plays Gus the drug baron/fried chicken seller in Breaking Bad (excellent actor)

Also, Saul from Homeland was the pirate from The Princess Bride

Unless I'm missing a whoosh parrot that isn't Harrison Ford. He would still have been in college when The Great Escape was filmed and it is unlikely that he would have made a trip from the US to Europe just to appear as an extra. Ford also claims that his first onscreen appearance wasn't until 1966.

It was the voice that twigged it for me.

Green skinned girl who fools around with Kirk in JJ Abram's Star Trek. Rachel Nichols from GI JOE and Continuum.
Another Star Trek one. Spock's mother? Winona Ryder.

Mandy potimpkin was probably made famous by that role. Also in criminal minds.

But I'm Just watching alien nation. James can film from late 80s and the alien in it looked familiar

As we are talking about princess bride I spose you know the dread pirate Roberts was the Dr in Saw smile
