Was the first series worse?!
Ohh yes! There were so many comedies of errors that it was cringeworthy. In fact most witnesses on here to the first series will testify that it can be summed up in two words:

Mustang
Windscreen

I've got this recorded, but I'm not sure after all of the comments whether I want to watch it now?

Maybe be better to get an 50 minutes of my life back.
I had a go at watching it today, lasted 5 minutes.

I tried watching an episode - the E-Type Jag one, but had to turn it off. So fake, and all that pretend shouting and arguing is just ridiculous. I think the most interesting of the UK shows (even though they are 10+ years old now) are the Mark Evans shows, i.e. 'A Car Is Born', 'A Car Is Reborn' etc....because you actually saw in detail exactly what he was doing and were genuinely interesting programmes.

"Geezers" talking nonsense and hyperbole and some blokes in a garage wielding hammers against and dropping brake calipers -Brake calipers that still looked battered when the car was 'finished', behind some different wheels.

Rubbish.

This is the photo on the demand 5 page.

Demand 5 doesn't seem to want to play anything so can anyone remember if the car behind them is the car they worked on, or is it the wreck they took the seats out of with the car they "restored" the one at the back?

Yeah I can't get demand 5 to work.
I think the latter is right - the one at the back is the 'finished' article. A telling picture actually, suggests they probably had the other one for a parts bin

I don't know which car was the final product, but one of them had a distinctive 'crooked grin' on the bonnet (not just because it was unlatched I don't think) and the car they seemed to be working on seemed to acquire/lose said grin. I expect they bought 2 and cannibalised one, and the rest of the business with seats etc. was made up to make the program more interesting.

They 'finished' a GT. They then fitted narrower wheels. Sums it up really, along with the imbecilic chiselling of the calipers.

so glad that I didnt watch this sea of visual turds, sounds like just the pathetic drivel they rolledout last series...life is to short to waste it watching this kind of crap and making jokers in it "stars" and rich in the process. Its on par with the majority of "reality " shows which started with the birth of "big brother" ,programmes for the brain dead generation.

It wasn't actually that bad, apart from the aforementioned calliper bodgery, Bernie only had one argument, but overall it was quite watchable. Cant believe I'm saying that, but Bernie is still an utter tt.

I was left rather disappointed by this weeks episode. The last series was absolutely hilarious, i can remember falling off the sofa one time from laughing so hard! Probably my favourite television programme ever, i don't think i've ever laughed so much in my life! The last series was so good in fact, i had to download it onto my laptop for future viewing!

There were some proper classic moments like when he crashed the 'Perfectly' painted E-Type into the engine by 'accident', which the guy had worked overnight to finish. I loved the countless times when the workers either got sacked or quit; it was amusing watching Bernie going down to the pub/cafe to retrieve them. The Mini episode was good too, when they propped the car up on a piece of wood, rather than using the ramp about a metre away which was available at the time. Then they set fire to it using the plasma cutter/welder! Oh and in the Cadillac episode when they lift the car up on the ramp and the rear axle and wheels completely drop off from the rust! Then they paint it the wrong colour, again by 'accident'. The best moment by far though, was when Mario was carrying the Mustang windscreen (Which clearly wasn't the same one, you'd have to be blind not to spot the difference!) and the glass 'cut' his hands and he threw it up into the air!

This weeks programme had a couple of funny moments like the outrageous dyno reading and the bit when the engine started smoking because of the water hose, but overall it was pretty dull compared to the previous series. I must admit the only reason i watch this show is for a good laugh. It's such a shame. Hopefully things will improve next week. smile

There was also the farce of Mario getting locked into the 9 20 8.

"open the back hatch".

Idiot.

Sounds like I am in with a pretty good chance of winning the car. I assume nobody else entered?

All the fake arguing is a pain in the arse.

Finding it really difficult to like the fat, bald, cockney character.

He's offers stupid money to specialists who low exactly what they can get for it.
