That paintwork is nasty. There a bit where the mechanic closes the boot the drip lines are terrible..

Really odd competition. Here's a car we have previously said is a deathtrap, have filled the fans with talc, ruined the paintwork while it was still drying, then let a former racing driver hoon it around while saying the interior should have more attention and the paint colour is ugly, and you can win it! Where do i enter?!

Date of First Registration: 06 09 1983
Year of Manufacture: 1979

So, it has been imported or stood at the dealer?

I'm sure it's been said many times before, but that show is ruined by those two 'presenters'.

What a pair of pillocks. It just gets worse. One of the most, if not the most, annoying car 'restoration' series ever made.

Utter garbage.

And it's an SLC not an SL.
It's an SL with hardtop fitted isn't it ?...confused

I'm not concentrating properly with PH open and telly on....nerd
No, it clearly had a sunroof which I have never seen on an SL hardtop, at least not on an R107.

The front bulkhead is a known R107 rot spot, luckily mine is OK in that area, if not most of the rest of the car......

Bernie, the only 'restoration' mechanic who doesn't understand why the projects turn up in an non-restored state.

When they sprayed the hardtop, did they mask the chrome rather than painting it properly?

It looked a bit like it to me.

I actually enjoyed the programme, particularly because I am in the middle of an SL restoration myself. Particularly jealous that they could use a lift to drop the entire engine and subframe assembly......
