so next week is an MGB?
let's see:
10k+ valuation
there will be a shockingly dramatic discovery of rust that will place the project under jeopardy
the respray colour will be violently bad
dylan will continue his 90's BMW back catalogue by arriving in a knackered e36

And it's yours for £1.50.

Me? I'm going to cherish that £1.50, and see if I can get a second hand copy of Parade. I won't feel quite so dirty with that hanging out of my back pocket as I would do if I was driving round in that porsche.

How long before the rot comes through that paint then...? 6-12 months?

I always used to wonder the same with Bernies chop-shop creations.

Probably couldn't find a less original 911 if you bought every part individually.
For a '77 car, this had the wrong engine, rear bumper, rear spoiler, front bumper, colour, interior and as for the bare metal restoration someone asked about further up the thread.....it is acceptable to skim (note I said skim not ladle ) the body with filler but it is not acceptable to strip the paint with an angle grinder !

It's a joke of a program, dumbed down for idiots and the voice over guy doesn't have a clue what he's on about....rub the primer down to the filler ????? ...numbnuts!

You missed the chrome window surround sprayed matt black (that was peeling off). I did the same to my Mk2 Escort Sport when I was 17 (with similar results).

Restored back to its original silver with chrome window surrounds, no whale tail and original bumpers it may have looked ok.

(Watching this on plus one).

Yes, you can clean up a dizzy cap, but if you're flogging a 911 for big money, put a new one on FFS!!

Oh, I don't know. Judging by the show so far, you might be the only contestant. hehe

oh dear and i thought last weeks episode was painful ! wipers parked on right so its been LHD too.....they should have left it narrow bodied and original bumpers to go with new interior or put some rear arches on it with cage and buckets and made a track car with it...i may have bid the £1,50 then but dont want to encourage them....MG with my initals on the plate next week...why didnt they just buy a nice 3.0 sc and polish it cudda been a 10 minute show and save listening to bernies rants...

It wouldn't be a bad programme if they got rid of the two main men and restored the vehicles properly, i.e. if it was completely different!

To me, it's just another example of dumbing down. We're assumed to lack the attention span required to follow someone doing the job properly, so they feel obliged to put two "characters" in to liven things up. The trouble is, Bernie in particular makes it all but unwatchable.

I'd be interested to know how many people phone in afterwards. Anyone with any sense wouldn't touch anything that those clowns had worked on.

I didn't see last week's episode but do know that circa 70,000 people entered.
Only saw the second half of the Porsche "restoration" and wouldn't enter.

So does my 78 SC, it was part of the Sport package. I think the whale tail was available on the 74 2.7 Carrera.

Edit my "whale tale" smile
