At last a BBC3 comedy that made me laugh. smile

Watched the first episode last night, nice middle-class girl goes on gap year trip to Thailand and gets married to hippie 'thinker' layabout by the name of Cuckoo and comes back to live with solicitor parents (Greg Davies plays the father).

Worth catching the first on one on iplayer.

Felt a bit like a 21st Century Bless This House, but worth a watch and as mentioned had me laughing a few times which is rare for a new BBC3 programme. smile

Quite enjoyed it, Greg Davies is great, interested to see how it develops over the series.

I watched it, fantastic. I am big Andy Samberg fan, anyone familiar with The Lonely Island probably is too. Lots to make you laugh, lots to make you cringe too...

Just caught the end of this but thought it looked pretty good. I didn't even realise Cuckoo was Hot Rod until right at the end. smile

Been meaning to watch this - I'm suprised they managed to land Samberg, he's not well known over here but he's pretty big in the States. According to his interviews, even Jude Law asked him "what he was thinking" when he decided to do it, apparently he just loved the script.

First five minutes and I had to kill it. FAR too many annoying voices.

Watched the first one. Thought it OK. Series linked.

Saw new series 'House of Lies' advertised. Set to record with series link.
Series link clash with Cuckoo.
Cuckoo series link deleted.

I caught up on both episodes over the weekend and found it great, Its a believable family, the way they are so rude to each other is spot on.

I think it's excellent.
And maybe it's just me but Helen Baxendale seems to be getting better with age!

I didn't find the programme particularly chuckleworthy; I guess we all have different buttons.

I think it's a bad role for Baxendale; her acting track record demonstrates that she isn't dim and I find the airhead role she plays quite incongruous.

I once met Anthony Hopkins - really nice, gentle, softly spoken and lovely man. I couldn't square that with the cannibalistic serial killer he once played.

But I think it's called acting.

What a card you are!

I found her attempt to act like a dimbo to be poorly delivered.

Better?

Much better.

I read your first post as "She isn't thick - why is she playing someone who's thick?"

Hence my comment.

But if your objection is that she does a crappy job of it then that's different.

Anyway I wasn't reviewing her acting - merely her aesthetics. yum

Ken ripped to the tits on drugs was hilarious. Even if they did re-hash the Inbetweeners spontaneous vom scene...

First time for ages I had a good laugh, really enjoyed it. Anyone else think the lead resembles Rick Mail(spelling?) more so when he was on mdma!
