His own conversion on the caravan he's dragging out via weekly episodes i'm sure looks great when standing still but with the structural rigidity of these things I can't help but think that with the whole side cut out, at the time he tries to tow it out on the open road its going to flop about and flex something chronic.

But hey its TV so it'll be the best thing in the world silly
You can see quite a bit of steel bracing up over the ceiling and on the other side of the 'van. That thing is going to weight at least double what it used to.

It is a static van as far as I know and won't be towed on the open road(ten feet wide). Mind, am sure it might well flex whilst being loaded/unloaded onto a low-loader. smile

I liked the tube train offices. This treehouse is going to be moving around a lot, interesting when it's windy smile .

Tube's were a good idea - but it doesn't take that much to put some HVAC in - it could even all be housed in the drivers compartment.

...and there's space for a wood-burner. yikes

But yes, did like the tube-trains, though think health and safety might throw a fit with the end door when open. hehe

Barcelona flat was great. I'm sure his Mrs will love having a bath out on the drop down wall...

Top flat! 'Tis amazing what can be done with a little thought(well probably a lot).

Loved the "the only caravan with a bath in it" but have to take it outside to use. hehe

How cold does it get in Barcelona in the winter? As that bed might be a bit chilly when they need to pull it in to sleep on, being outside the building. I know it's not exposed but enclosed but I doubt it if it's in a heated enclosure.

The Barcelona flat was brilliant, but how the hell did that woman manage to spend £13,000 doing up that little caravan as an ice cream bar?

Ours is twice that size and didn't cost that much to fit out.

She did say that the steel panels with the 'quilted' effect cost £2k.

Mmmm, I would love a proper 20s showmans living van for the vintage rally season!

There's always a load at Dorset Steam Fair every year that are usually beautifully restored:

Nifty idea with the pivoting units in that caravan though smile

Love those showmen vans. Will be interesting to see how much the renovation comes to.

The swing-out kitchen certainly puts paid to my earlier criticism of the drop down wall restricting room layout!

ETA: Ar! So there is to be swing-out walls as well.

He couldn't have been less complimentary about that showman caravan. It did display a distinct lack of design flair.

Dreadful wasn't it! The only redeeming feature being 'the lovely floorboards' and, north of twenty big-ones to boot! Not to mention the five thousand purchase price. yikes
