If I go to see this film because of pictures like this and the trailer music and it's st I'm going to be very angry.

I'm already worried by her stupid little robot.

I actually really like that idea, however if it's true and that was indeed George Lucas' initial intent. His error was not having the reveal done somehow earlier on. In TESB we meet Yoda as an irritating character that gets in the way of you, steals your lunch and generally is a nosey PITA, he's revealed as the Jedi Master within 5-10 minutes of screen time. If they'd have had the reveal with Jar Jar, GL should have had a subtle reveal of his true identity at least in TPM, probably within the first half of TPM, becuase by the time AotC came out, everyone already hated his character for being a buffoon.
Brilliant laugh I always thought it was amusing that Jar Jar kick started the clone wars by proposing the emergency powers, like some sort of unintentional (or intentional?) massive trolling on the rest of the galaxy laugh

Can't see it happening though, Jar Jar seems to invoke some kind of extremely negative response like Clipit etc. and people will be like "OMFG JAR JARS BACK!!!111 *rabid mouth frothing*" regardless what role he plays or the content of the rest of the film.

For some reason I'm now worried about the acting ability of Finn and Rey. Based on the new footage she is beginning to irritate.

Are we going to have a new godfather 3 moment.

I'm guessing her name is the main reason she was chosen or is that a coincidence?

Anyway she is at least very easy on the eye and if she can't act it carries on a tradition I suppose. She may have been picked as the new Hayden Christiansen

What's her connection?

Nina Gold (Game of Thrones) did the casting, she doesn't pick duffers as a rule.

I doubt the new film will reference the prequels much...if at all.

I was in a supermarket today and I felt transported back to my childhood, because it seemed like every other product either had C3PO & R2D2 on it, or else Darth Vader.

So were saying that an actors family links to another actor in an ancient British sitcom has no bearing on the casting of the biggest franchise in motion picture history?

+1 yep, with very few tweaks.

Plans for Deathstar mkIII now nicked by Boyega.

Rey parallels Luke's arc, discovering the force.

The badguy is not someone's father, but actually the son... upsetting his poor mum.

Xwing- tie battle before deathstar blows up everything with the largest lens flare in the galaxy.

Yep.

Han saves Rey early (on the desert planet). Luke saves Rey later (as Ren has the light sabre to her neck)

Rey - "Luke, I am your SON"
HewManHeMan (in the audience) "OOOOHHHH FOR fk SAKE YOU PULLED THIS SAME st WITH STAR TREK!"

Edit to say, the trailers have gotten under my skin and I am genuinely excited to see this film. And, as a long time cine-geek, it's been far too long since I've been able to say that. But, if they have simply rehashed the originals, flip flop a few roles and tweak this and that, like they did with Star Trek (which I don't care about because Star Trek is boring) I'll leave the cinema in stone cold silence. And I'll stew over it for months. And, when I'm ready, I will go online and declare TPM the better film.

I'll be that angry.

Am I the only one that preferred Abrams Star Trek to the boring originals? The only Shatner one I enjoyed was the silly one with the whales and all the Stewart ones were utterly tedious.

I enjoyed the new ones but didn't know much of the originals (TV or film)

I just can't stand the idea of the new Star Wars being a tried and tested vehicle for Disney. We want an original story, with brand new I AM YOUR FATHER moments.... not a 'reboot' of the original, which I'm now sure we're going to get. The studio will have seen how well the new Treks have done and asked the nerd friendly Abrams to do that again.

I hope I'm wrong.
