Do we know yet why 3PO has a red arm?
No and I don't believe that it is covered in the new film either. You have to buy a comic to find out.

Adults are really that enamored about a star wars film that they'll go to a midnight showing and get this excited? I get star wars movies were decent scifi for their time (only saw three original movies), but never realised that people would be this hyped up for a scifi movie aimed at kids.
I just cant understand it but I suppose we're all different, hope it's worth the amount of giddiness it's producing.
The trailers made it look like typical "disney does hunger games" type of stuff, will watch it when it comes to blu ray but not holding much hope for it as a classic.
You just don't get it man! Unless you get it you won't get it. Any of it. I just cant understand it but I suppose we're all different, hope it's worth the amount of giddiness it's producing.

The spoilery trailer thing now, where the big set pieces or specific parts are shown in the 3 minutes got out of hand about 3 years ago.
A good allegory of why its bad, would be if the original 1977 film had a trailer like today, you can guarantee the star destroyer coming overhead would have been shown in the trailer, and it would have stolen the jaw dropping sense that many cite as the reason they were blown away in 1977.
The original star wars trailer is awful when you see it, but at least it gave nothing away.

LInk has probable massive spoilers.

If what the link says is true, then it might be OK if done properly.
I just hope the film is decent, if it isn't...

Personally, while possible, I think that link is outdated. I think they will play it safer than that - and I think thats what Lucas alludes to in his comments. Disney has done a great job so far of keeping major plot details secret, although recently there have been a slew of new trailers, with each revealing slightly more footage. Not long to find out....http://www.starwarsunderworld.com/2014/10/rumor-ep...

I didn't know what George has said. I had to go look.http://www.cinemablend.com/new/How-George-Lucas-St...
I put little-to-no faith in what George says though. Everything he has done since 1997, and a lot since Kurtz left during RotJ and everything I have read about the process of making the franchise has left me with the opinion that George really doesn't understand what made the old films great, and indeed on how to take them further. He has an amazing lack of insight into putting together coherent stories that make sense from the kernal of his own great ideas.
I'll know myself in 5 days.
Really excited now, but going to leave the internet (facebook) alone from tonight, as far too many tts looking to spile it for everyone in ways not easy to avoid. After wednesday night folk can do what they like but ill never forgive myself if i found out a major spoiler because i couldn't just leave well enough alone.

With social media as powerful as it is the full plot will be available to the world by 20:30 tonight!I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I'm keen to read a spoiler free review so that I can mentally prepare for good/bad!

As I understand it the full review embargo is lifted at 8am on Wednesday (why not Thursday, it's not like there are many seats available for the rest of this week anyway!) after press screenings tomorrow.
Interesting to read it doesn't even break the top ten in 2015 alone for the number of cinemas screening it in the US, I figured it would be absolute saturation.
Anyway, I think I'm going to switch the internet off tonight...

There were two? Bugger! I only saw one, "How Star Wars changed the World" where they met with a number of fans, that had different Star Wars related hobbies. What was the 2nd one, I'll have to try and get it on demand.http://nerdist.com/the-dan-cave-star-wars-splinter...

I too will be avoiding spoilers like the plague between now and release day (1915 viewing on Thursday for me).
As for the hype, well a lot of Star Wars fans have heard the 9 episode rumour for years, and now it's upon us. I think it's a sequel many of us have been waiting 30 years for.
Althoug Star Wars merchandise has gone through the roof, from breakfast cereal's to a Star Wars themed lap top advert, there hasn't really been much "official" on TV yet, I haven't seen a TV trailer for it. I still expect it to bust pretty much every box-office record over this first weekend.
