Saw it on an Etihad flight a couple of weeks ago.

I actually enjoyed it apart from their successful effort in finding a stter actor than Hayden Christensen to play Vader mk2
I thought Adam Driver was brilliant. He is normally good in everything he is in.
Yep, the acting was excellent throughout, Especially Daisy Ridley, she is exceptional in it.

We watched the extras from the Blu-Ray yesterday, and I learned that the monster chess board fight continued where it left off in the original Star Wars, when Fin inadvertently switched it back on!

Harrison Ford also asked if the toggle switches on the Falcon had springs this time, as in the original, they didn't have any (for budgetary reasons)!, and if he flicked the toggle switch up, it would slowly return to the down position! hehe

If you enjoyed the chess bit, have you seen Adam Savage's bit on Tested.com about it?

Didn't get to see it at the cinema, but watched the Blu Ray this evening having successfully avoided all spoilers. Really enjoyed it overall, felt like a logical extension to the franchise and real environments instead of green screen made it seem more believable.ALso got the balance right between referencing what had gone before and bringing in new elements. Not ashamed to admit I marked out when Hand and Chewie appeared again, or the X-Wings flying low over the water.

One minor gripe was the Finn seemed to change his allegiance too quickly. I could understand if he was conscripted or press ganged, but they say he had been conditioned from birth? But still a great film overall
Pretty much the same here. smile
I can't believe I went all this time and managed to avoid the film and nearly everything about it until tonight. Glad I did, certainly wasn't expecting the bridge scene to play out as it did. I was kind of expecting a cheesy, "I'm your father" line but glad it wasn't there.
8/10

Got about 30 seconds into that and had to turn it off.

Sorry.
Work blocked, whats the gist, is it some fan going over TFA and explaining why it isnt 'REAL' star wars?
Don't waste 6 minutes of your time like I did, there's nothing there.... honestly it's terrible.

Watched it again last night. I was underwhelmed in the cinema. Found it better on the small screen. Wooden characters, lack of plot/story and no emotion seems better on the TV. Still 3 out of 5 if I'm being generous.

A bit OT I know, but it may be topical giving all what's going on with new SW stuff right now.

Does anyone know if any remastered originals will ever be put out by Disney? Ie, either original theatrical releases or the VHS equivalents from the 80s?

After watching ESB and ROTJ on Netflix the other day I was left feeling like they'd been ruined in all the areas they'd been tweaked with, mainly because the music hadn't been re-scored very well at all. But the quality is very nice indeed.

I'd imagine Disney would be up for this as it'd net them plenty of copies sold I'm sure?!

Well, I thought it was acceptable enough. I did think there was an awful lot of deja vu but still....

And plenty of unanswered questions. But some amusing lines and enough action to keep it going. I am looking forward to finding out who Rey's dad is................................

Yep, I have all 3. Way better than anything George Lucas has put out. It's like starting again in 1977 but with a 4K telly.
