A lot better than I was expecting,a sort of female Taken but more believable.Got me hooked.7/10.
I really liked Gina Carano in Haywire, so will definitely check this out.

P.S. Where did you see it?

Quite enjoyed this, it's a slightly odd film but worked well.

True Grit - The recent remake.

Aside from struggling to understand what Rooster Cogburn was saying half the time, I thought it was an excellent Western.

The 'girl' was amusing, mildly annoying and feisty in the right degrees and they managed to make her appealing without trying to make her attractive. Matt Damon's Texas Ranger character was farcical and heroic in equal measures too, very cleverly done on both points,I thought.

I'm not usually a fan of remakes, but this was different enough from the original to be worth the effort.

8/10.

Enemy - New Jake Gyllenhaal film about a man who notices that an actor who he sees in a film looks exactly like him. He tracks down the actor and stalks him. That's pretty much all that happens. Oh and there's a weird running theme about spiders.

3/10. Rubbish.

Finally watched Inglorious Basterds last night and really enjoyed it. I haven't seen too many Tarantino films but this one was very good.

Mean Girls (2004)
Id forgotten how funny this film was. Its a guilty pleasure of mine but has so many good moments it reminded me of the dry humour you'd find in the naked gun. I cant quite put my finger on it but it made me laugh so much.

Solid 8/10 (flame suit on)
No you're right it's great, reminded me of 'Heathers' a bit, very funny film.

Robocop (2013)
2/10

One of the worst films i have ever seen. Im a fan of the original but still went in with an open mind like i did with Total Recall and was looking forward to a new take on the story. What i found was a complete lack of engagement with any of the characters, boring shoot out scenes, lack of storyline, a bad guy that was not particularly bad - the only redeeming feature was a cool 5 minute scene where they took all of his armour off revealing just a head and a set of lungs. It really was terrible. In so many ways.

It was just filled up with so much crap that wasnt necessary. He didnt even have a cool gun.
Not one you'd watch again? hehe

Not a chance. They couldn't even get the one liners written into the story in a decent manner.

Given the choice between this and "the host" written by that twilight woman, I'd choose the host. And I actually suffered internal bleeding when I watched that.

Truly, it's that bad.

Because Abbie Cornish is in it, she was in sucker punch, I watched that film after this and remembered how much I liked it. That and the dismembering part I mentioned earlier.

Thanks. I'm not just asking out of idle interest - going to watch that soon as a huge fan of original version, but hearing what people say I'm in great doubt whether it worth two hours of my life smile

I watched The Crash Reel a documentary about Kevin Pierce accident and subsequent recovery. IMBD rates it over 8/10 and I thought it was pretty excellent (and sobering). Difficult to describe as anything other than a great documentary.

White House Down.

Stupid, stupid, stupid, fun. As dumb as they come but - apart from the smaltzy last ten minutes - just tremendous fun.

At the start of the third act, you can literally see the the film pausing, catching its breath, and then turning itself up to eleven!

7/10

Oblivion – 7/10 I rather enjoyed it to be honest, some of the special effects were great, story was ok, don’t think id watch it again but it passed a few hours on a Monday night.

Saving Mr Banks – 8/10 Right firstly this wasn’t my choice the other half wanted to watch it, i hate marry poppins and thought id hate this as well but strangely really enjoyed it. Really enjoyed tom hanks in it. Not very much happens to be honest but a rather feel bad, feel good the next minute film.

Fast and Furious 6 – after only seeing snippets of the other 5 i was worried i wouldn’t be able to follow the plot, a bit like jumping right into series 6 of lost or the last series of breaking bad i thought.
I didn’t have to worry however, within the first scene of a sped up car chase and 20 minutes of some of the most “stiff” acting i have ever seen I switched it off. Now I can count the amount of times i have switched a film of, i always follow it to the end but this was just horrendous. 1/10 for the 20 minutes i seen.

Team America – fk yeah. 7/10 watched this again still very funny in certain places, aged rather well, some usual toilet humour that i really cant be arsed with but was ok.

Saving Mr Banks.

Enjoyed it very much indeed.
Did you watch it right to the end?
I'd take a run up to kick that mardy cow in the fanny.
Oh god yes. Unbelievable if it were written, staggering as its true!
have to agree, i hated her for the duration of the film, thought tom hanks was excellent

Blood ties: a story set in 70's of two brothers, one bad and one good - old as the world. Also, a 2008 French film remake. However - very good directing, cast and acting from such people as Crudup (was excellent in particular), Owen, Cotillard, Kunis, Saldana, Matthias Schoenaerts (rust and bones, bullhead) and great James Caan , deep, convincing (the pace is ok) and thought provoking story about people paying their real debts. It's not particularly easy to watch, but worth it. It has its faults, minor plotholes etc, but I would definitely rate it above 7/10

I like a good Jason Statham action flick - he seems to portray all that I am not! hehe

Watched The Mechanic with Jason Statham at the weekend, was ok but not as good as the original with Charles Bronson. I'm also sure the ending had a bit of poetic licence in the remake. Won't say anymore as I don't want to give away the ending if anyone hasn't seen it.
