I like a good Jason Statham action flick - he seems to portray all that I am not! hehe
Watched The Mechanic with Jason Statham at the weekend, was ok but not as good as the original with Charles Bronson. I'm also sure the ending had a bit of poetic licence in the remake. Won't say anymore as I don't want to give away the ending if anyone hasn't seen it.
Talking of Jason Statham, I watched Hummingbird last night. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I like The Mechanic although I'm not aware of the Charles Bronson film so may have to check that out somehow.

Yes, agreed although Hummingbird isn't your usual Statham film. Loved the fact that Hummingbird was filmed around Soho, seeing familiar places.

the Charlie B version is a cracker - or at least memory makes it so!

Watched The Secret Life of Walter Mitty the other night.

Probably a 6.5/10. The ending ruined it for me. I wasn't interested in her, wanted to know what he went on to do with himself and how much was in the envelope.
Overall pretty good, and some incredible scenery shots.

Saving Mr Banks.

Enjoyed it very much indeed.
Did you watch it right to the end?
I'd take a run up to kick that mardy cow in the fanny.
Oh god yes. Unbelievable if it were written, staggering as its true!
have to agree, i hated her for the duration of the film, thought tom hanks was excellent
It would appear that she wasn't particularly liked in real life - from her wiki entry;

From P. L. Travers' Wiki Entry said:
According to her grandchildren, Travers "died loving no one and with no one loving her."

Georges St-Pierre?
Sorry, forgot I'd written here. But yes, Georges St-Pierre, follows his knee injury and return to the sport.

I watched The Crash Reel a documentary about Kevin Pierce accident and subsequent recovery. IMBD rates it over 8/10 and I thought it was pretty excellent (and sobering). Difficult to describe as anything other than a great documentary.

just watched this and I have no interest in snowboarding and had never heard of the participants, some staggering (to me) clips of "extreme sports", who on earth thought somersaults on a snowmobile was a good idea?

touching, poignant and thought-provoking

highly recommended

(great soundtrack too)

Crank:
I hadn't known it's been out for 8 years - don't know how I missed it.

Rubbish. Unless you enjoy films with fast car chases, tits, sex in public, more shootings and maimings than you can count and some genuine LOL moments, even though the plot isn't at all funny.

If you liked Jason Stratham in the Transporter series you'll love this.

9/10
