Good films I watched this weekend (Vol 2)
Discussion
Watched Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit last night, thought it was a bit poor. Didn't like the whole rushed bit at the beginning explaining him dropping out of education, going to afghanistan, getting injured, getting recruited etc.
Thin-lipped Kenneth Brannagh was poor, his lips (or lack of) did more acting than he did, can't really abide Keira, nice to look at but poor actress.

Downloaded Non-Stop yesterday and gave it a watch. Was probably one of the worst films I've ever seen. Poor acting, poor editing, awful music and sound effects. I thought they were being clever and made the watcher try and spot Liam Neeson as I was getting a bit confused as to why he hadn't appeared 30 mins before the film finished. It then clicked that this wasn't the right film. It turns out that I downloaded a TV film with the same name. Oh well.
Haha! The Liam Neeson one was actually alright, ruined by the ending IMO which tried to add a bit of action rather than keeping it as a good thriller. Quickmoose said:
Her You can tell it was directed by the bloke that did "Where the Wild Things Are" within 5 minutes, very bright landscapes, slow plinky-plonky piano soundtrack, long slow sceness with little dialogue, but when there is dialogue it's good, moving and very touching.
The fact that this film shows you a glimpse of the very near TERRIFYING future adds a great WTF! aspect..or did for me anyway.... deserves more than it's 8.2 IMDB IMO, really enjoyed it and made me think about it for quite a while afterwards...
oh....it's about a bloke coming to terms with divorce and struggling with dating women, so dates his new computer OS....
Just watched this film and i agree that it deserves more than the 8.2. I'm not normally one for slow paced films, but something caught me from the start and i was hooked all the way through to the end. Oh and Scarlett Johansson's voice , i want a OS with that voice.
It's a scary concept though with an AI so intelligent, that it can learn and adapt and become aware. But i didn't understand the end part when she told him that she had to leave. Was it because of the developers pulling the product?

Saw Pain and Gain last night.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1980209/
Wasn't expecting much and it was a bit slow to start. But it turned into a really enjoyable film. True story as well.

I quite enjoyed that too, not sure how much licence was taken with the true story though..? The Rock was very funny in it particularlyhttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt1980209/

yes, I think 'the world' became aware that they didn't have an OS that was specifically 'theirs' and unique but that each OS was serving many hundreds/thousands of users, which was leading to confusion/disappointment/anger/legal proceedings, like a product recall, whereby humans were then forced to rediscover interacting with each other and not their hand held devices.... thats how I understood it anyway can see _Deano's explanantion too... hmm

Errr, the one with Bruce Willis in it. I usually hate Bruce Willis films!
