We chose Annabelle and Ghostbusters for our Halloween viewing.

The Mrs is of a nervous disposition so avoids horror movies as a rule. I must admit I was expecting it to be gash but I really didn't mind it at all, there were some jumpy moments and although I'm sure it didn't intend to be I found it quite funny at times.

The doll however looked creepy as fk out the box so why you'd buy it in the first place who knows?! 6/10

Ghostbusters. Not much to say, genius, I never fail to wet myself laughing at this scene:

Had to watch Maleficent to determine if it would be suitable for my 6yo daughter.

It isn't, but it's not a bad film. It seems stuck between an adult's film and a kid's film somewhere - it's quite dark yet it's clearly a Disney fantasy.
funny thing is mrs Irocfan and I came out of the cinema with this very thought - maybe too dark for the young 'uns but not dark enough for the mid-teen upwards market. Did enjoy it though with some good performances and glorious visuals. I'd be looking at a healthy 78%
My 6 year old girl loved Maleficent.

Fairy tales are MEANT to be dark aren't they? Too many kids things nowadays have lost the scariness/darkness of a real fairy tale. smile

Yep, my 3 & 5 yr old thrive on a bit of mild peril.

The conjuring.

I have not been scared watching a film since a kid. i find 'horror films' amusing. until now that is

my word this film had me jumping. ok all the tricks are there and you know they are coming but its so well done.

Very good film. very well made, good acting.

be warned. don't watch it in the dark like i did smile

8.8/10
Watched this yesterday as well. Enjoyed it a lot and I'm usually really fussy about horror films (though I love the good ones).

My girlfriend hid behind a cushion for half of it, definitely the sign of a good horro film.

We had a choice of The Conjuring, Willow Creek or Eden Lake. Anyone seen either of the other two. Any good?

Man on fire.
Having been to Mexico City and Puebla, it was even more interesting; They even had Popocatepetl in the closing scene.

Oh, and he's a real bad ass hitman!

Yes my mrs was very quiet. I think she was actually disturbed by it.

Not seen willow creek but I have seen Eden lake. Was ok but didn't really enjoy it myself despite Kelly Riley being in it.

Watched the Judge last night staring Robert Duval and Robert Downey Jr.

It was good and worth a watch, lost a bit of steam somewhere in the middle as for me it slipped into melancholy a bit too much for my liking. Robert Downey Jr plays Robert Downey Jr, you could drop him into a film like this, Iron Man/Avengers and he plays it the exact same.

7/10.

yes RD Jnr is a very limited actor in my opinion and I don't understand all of hype around him.

The Changeling - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0824747

Didn't know anything about this before watching it, really great film. Looked wonderful and had me gripped from the start. Jolie nailed the role perfectly.

Watched ParaNorman with the Littlest Ha (4) on Saturday. Beautifully shot/rendered/animated, spooky enough for her, but lots of other horror film references to keep my interest too.

Just saw How To Train Your Dragon 2.

Up there with the first one, probably best Dreamworks movies, and possibly the best animation movies ever.
For me, up there with the Kung Fu Panda ones.

Solid 8.5/10.

Quite enjoyed Edge of Tomorrow on Sky Box Office at the weekend.
Or Live.Die.Repeat as I was convinced it was called (that was the "tagline")
