I watched Midnight Run again. I absolutely love that film and is the first film I remember the great Dennis Farina being in.

Sin City 2

Lacks the originality of the first one but I enjoyed it nonetheless. And it was nothing to do with Eva Green being naked throughout most of her scenes. Honest.

The recommendation is simple - if you liked the first one, or will suffer this one because of a chance to perv at Eva Green, then you'll like this one.

6/10
It was lacking over the original I thought too. Agree about the Eva Green bit though biggrin

Nightcrawler

Jake Gyllenhaal plays a petty crook who by chance comes across a freelance camera crew filming a car wreck after an accident, who then sell the footage to the highest bidding News broadcaster-then fancies a bit of that himself. I really enjoyed the film, original and well acted by Gyllenhaal. Really good film 7.5

I thought he'd actually take it further than he did, going so far as to murder people himself just to catch the story first.

I've just watched Disney's Brave, because it was free on Amazon Prime Video.

I have to say that I absolutely loved it.

Rather amusingly, I thought the Voice Actor playing the King was doing a bad Billy Connolly impression. Turned out it actually was Billy Connolly. biggrin

Just watched Saving Private Ryan. Thought it was excellent. One of the best war movies I've seen.

Fury is quite good too if you haven't seen it yet.

Yes, seen Fury as well. Another film with great battle scenes. I can also recommend The Flags Of Our Fathers as well if you enjoy war films.

Older, but just as powerful; the big red 1.

I thought it was real st, quite frankly. A B-movie spin-off of a great film. Such a let down - 3/10 only because of certain miss Green.

The interview

A stoner film like the others. Pretty good fun 8 out of 10

The drop

Very slow and subtle needs another watch as my tired. As it is James gandalf last film worth it to watch for that alone.

From Paris with Love

Not heard of it before, John Travolta being a a bad ass FBI agent in Paris , quite a thin plot so don't expect much but lots of guns and bodies, good brain out romp as they say.

6.5/10

Tom hardy continues to impress me. I would go so far as to say he has the range of Depp.
Anyway the film is a solid 7.5/10 and keeps you constantly engaged with some good twists.

Gorky Park

This is one of my favourite films ever. I haven't been to Russia but my Polish wife has coloured-in my understanding of communism. Although I had seen this film many years before I met my wife, her insights into life under communism really brings this film alive.

I particularly love the way they used different English accents to portray different classes of people, a trick years in advance of Game of Thrones.

Great story told by great actors in way that so brilliantly shows how people lived then.

Watched it today after a colleague recommended it. Brilliant black comedy, great soundtrack too. Well worth a watch.
