I watched City of God last night.

How I've missed this in the past 13 years I don't know, but it's a bloody good film and based on a true story.

A solid 9/10.
Then watch Tropa De Elite 1&2 next, you won't be disappointed.
If they're on Netflix then that's my weekend sorted, cheers smile

Yes. Both superb films. Good call.

Both have a very different angle too. 1 is the view from the streets, and 2 is more of a wider political angle on the problem of drugs and institutional corruption.

Deadfall - really enjoyed that. a 6.3 on IMDB
"A thriller that follows two siblings who decide to fend for themselves in the wake of a botched casino heist, and their unlikely reunion during another family's Thanksgiving celebration".

Cannibal Holocaust

Not often a film is banned in most of the world and its director is arrested for murdering its three main actors.

On suspicion of.

There is a cannibal movie in which Ursula Andress is stripped naked by some Stone Age tribesmen, who smear something all over her body. I remember it well. smile

Easily in my Top 10 of all time. Brilliant in every way and one of the only films I'd give 10/10 to as not sure how it could be better.

A good movie but it's in a foreign language for a start. Secondly it's fairly predictable, and third the acting is... .

You know, I was going to add a line about the first smart arse who comments that it's subtitled.

Uncultured oaf.

We watched Gone Girl last weekend and thought it was excellent. One of the best films we've seen for a while.

Minions 4/10

I was rather bored with it to be honest. Some good gags but not as good as you think it's going to be. Even the kids in the cinema were a bit bored

Charged with murder but charges dropped when he produced the three actors.

I remember when it came out, there was a kurfuffle about it being a real documentary. It could easily have been, worse stuff than that depicted goes on in that region.

From seeing the trailer, I thought it looked rubbish - unfortunately you have confirmed my suspicions. Even more unfortunately I will still need to take my sons to see it at the cinema...

Watched 'the interview' last night. I'd been expecting a terrible film but actually wasn't that bad. Never going to be a classic but its above average for a rogen/ Franco film. If you don't like pineapple express, this is the end etc you wont like it. Having mates round with beers probably helped too!
I'm going to say 6/10

Inside out - Pixar's shipshape again. So clever, so deep, so funny. A must watch for any age. Solid 9/10

Jurassic World

Finally got around to seeing this tonight with the family. As good as the original? Of course not. Going to win any awards for story, script or acting? 100% no. 2 Hours of big, dumb, summer fun that leaves you with a smile on your face? Absolutely.
