It's not a classic but it has it's moments. Typical Bay slow-mo sequences and iffy direction. The stand out is The Rock. Who knew he could actually act? A proper funny and sometimes quietly deep performance. Without him the film would have been considerably poorer.

7/10
Showed it in his early roles; Walking Tall and Be Cool.
I'll add Southland Tales. Richard Kelly's second film after Donnie Darko, its weird, reviewers slammed it, there's loads going on and it doesn't make much sense, but I like it biggrin . Johnson plays an amnesiac action film actor who's written a screenplay with a porn star (Sarah Michelle Gellar) about the end of the world. He's channelling the William Shatner talking with weird... pauses, does this finger tapping nervous twitch thing, and its so far away from the F&F franchise action stuff he does now.

Kajaki - film set in Helmund province based on a true story of British soldiers caught up in a minefield. Good tension and unpredictability and well acted IMO. 6.5/10

Ant-Man 6.5/10. Some really fun moments, good stuff. Nothing amazing though. Paul Rudd plays the role well.

Can't see it after a quick look on Netflix/Amazon, so it might be a DVD job now. Here's a write up.

yes

I was a bit set-up for disappointment which made it all the better. I thought it was a great movie without world-ending scenarios as seems to be the norm these days. I've always liked Paul Rudd since Friends and Evangeline Lilly is just cloud9.

Me and the missus enjoyed it after the disappointing Minions movie.
It was, dare I say it, better than Avengers 2, but that's probably more because of expectations than anything else.

And again! Baffles me why anyone enjoyed this.

I think I saw a different film with the same title

I agree with this. It was enjoyable enough, but certainly no better than average.

but a 9?!

A 9 would make it possibly the greatest film you've ever seen, like ever, in the world, the whole world, all it. That kind of film, one of those.

Is it really?

I loved it. Gave it an 8/10 if I recall.
Very entertaining apart form SLJ's stupid disappearing speech impediment.
Don't know if it helped I had no previous knowledge of it, not seen an advert or read about it. Only knew it was related to Kickass.

Run All Night.

Neeson and guns. This guy is churning out a lot of these action films at the moment and this one of the better ones. Bit predictable etc but worth a watch.

He hit an unexpected vein of gold with Taken, and is pimping that mine deep before his knees/hips crumble.

I really disliked that one too, I saw an early trailer and it looked great, but hardly any of the bits from that made it to the film. The whole thing missed. I didn't bother with KA2
