Interstellar

I will admit i am a Christopher Nolan fan and that this film at times does become abit too far fetched but 95% of this film is nothing short of perfection. The audio and video quality of this film are breath taking and the pace of the film is just right, it has been quite a while since i was so blown away by a film but this did just that.

9.5/10

Whiplash - the more of such films, the better. No point hearing/reading about it, just watch - 9/10.

I watched the Ed Norton version of the Hulk yesterday - it was on the telly. I've seen the end before but not the whole film. I quite enjoyed it - it was certainly several orders of magnitude better than the Ang Lee version starring Eric Bana.

Repo men was one of my favourite movies back in the day. A bit of a cult classic than a widely accepted one. There's an independant cinima in town and they showed it last week on the big screen. I was out of the country at the time and gutted to miss it.
are you getting confused with repo man.

Which is awesome and indeed a cult classic.

I mean repo men

Yep, the Ed Norton Hulk film is good, and much better than the Eric Bana film. I wish that they would sort things out to get a Mark Ruffalo Hulk film sorted though. I know Marvel have got their film list set for the next few years, but I like Ruffalo Hulk.

Ah yes I was thinking of Repo Man. I seem to have got my wires crossed. I've not seen Repo Men but will hunt it out when the other half is not at home.

I watched Trainwreck with the Mrs and, whilst some parts weren't great and the ending was horribly cheesy, some parts were quite hilarious.

7/10.

Seen a few lately:

Mission Impossible 5: Really quite enjoyable. Nice action set pieces with a story (sort of) inbetween. Not the most taxing of films but a fun couple of hours.

7.5/10

Fantastic F4ur: Starts well and goes down hill. You can actually work out the bits they added due to the female leads bad wig on the new bits. The shame is the first part has some promise and is a slightly different angle on the usual story. The tipping point is where the one year later caption appears. Everything after that felt rushed and poorly developed. whoever signed off on the design of the Dr Doom needs a career change.

5.0/10

Antman: Really nice super hero / heist movie. fast paced and quite funny in places very high quality effects especially making actors look younger (the first time this has been done almost perfectly In my opinion) Only real downsides were the completely generic villain and the tacked on cross over scene which added nothing to the movie other than making sure we knew it was part of the MCU.

8.0/10

I still have the original vinyl LP soundtrack to Repo Man that I bought in Our Price record shop back in 1985 (when I was 18)! Still play it now and again, and I have since bought the Steelbook BR copy of the movie..

1996 film - Billy Bob Thornton wrote, directed and starred in this.

A real slow burner but wonderful. The acting is top notch and it's incredibly engaging.

8/10.
Great film. (He looks older in this than he does in the series Fargo! - 18 years later)

Really enjoyed this film. Thought Amy Schumer was great and was very funny in some places. Worth a watch.

It's a completely different style film. Very clever IMO, quite deep,Good story with very good mix of action and style.

No One Lives last night on Sky...not bad at all for what it was. Acting is pretty poor but the story line was interesting with a nice twist early on. Lots of blood n guts and completely over the top - which made it entertaining. 7/10

Anyone seen 'Adaptation'?

Always wary of a Nicholas Cage film (although I love 'Leaving Las Vegas' & 'Lord of War') but the rest of the cast looks great and it sounds interesting.

I enjoyed it, the story was a bit paint by numbers but the humour was great.

Cop Car - 8.5/10

Film about two 10 year old boys who have just run away from home and are walking through the fields near where they live. They come across as Cop Car with no driver and the story develops from there.

Really recommend!

Sole Survivor (1970)

This was a made-for-TV film which stands out head and shoulders above its peers for an imaginative story.

5 WWII airmen survive the crash landing of their B25 bomber in the Libyan desert after their navigator abandons them over the Mediterranean, only for them to all to die in the desert trying to walk back to civilisation. Their ghosts return to the plane and play baseball to while away their time for the next 17 years until they are found by a spotter plane which leads to an investigation by the air force which includes the surviving navigator (who has aged those 17 years).

I love the introduction of a helicopter into a scene which the ghosts had never seen before, as well as William Shatner playing William Shatner.

The copy I have is poor quality - apparently this has never been released on any home media, so my copy is from some unknown broadcast from for 1970s. Regardless, this is a massive classic.

10/10.

I have, I thought it was boring and pretentious, really disappointing.

I wasn't a huge fan started off well but then lost my interest around half way through.
