Have you watched the full 'Brat Pack' set then? 16 Candles, St. Elmo's Fire, Pretty in Pink, and so on. I'd include stuff like 'The Sure Thing' & 'Risky Business' for the full effect.
'Weird Science' and 'Ferris Bueller' - aaaah films of my youth

Sole Survivor (1970)

This was a made-for-TV film which stands out head and shoulders above its peers for an imaginative story.

5 WWII airmen survive the crash landing of their B25 bomber in the Libyan desert after their navigator abandons them over the Mediterranean, only for them to all to die in the desert trying to walk back to civilisation. Their ghosts return to the plane and play baseball to while away their time for the next 17 years until they are found by a spotter plane which leads to an investigation by the air force which includes the surviving navigator (who has aged those 17 years).

I love the introduction of a helicopter into a scene which the ghosts had never seen before, as well as William Shatner playing William Shatner.

The copy I have is poor quality - apparently this has never been released on any home media, so my copy is from some unknown broadcast from for 1970s. Regardless, this is a massive classic.

10/10.

Just watched The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Really enjoyed it, a solid 7/10. Great cars, music and action. M's Vikander is rather captivating.

Don't watch the trailer. It's too long and gives things away.

Ah , pero el problema con esa copia es , yo no hablo español . Puede descargar una película de calidad similar sin los subtítulos en español .

Watched Dirty Dancing for the first time in a while last night. It's a near perfect film, with not a single wasted scene.

10/10 from me.

Anyone seen 'Adaptation'?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0268126/

Always wary of a Nicholas Cage film (although I love 'Leaving Las Vegas' & 'Lord of War') but the rest of the cast looks great and it sounds interesting.
I have, I thought it was boring and pretentious, really disappointing.
Seconded. I can't remember a film I enjoyed less.
Fell asleep after 20 minutes and Cage still completely over acted in that time.

A very pleasant way to pass an evening. I was rather hoping for something better though - I like Guy Richtie films. Perhaps I was over expecting.

Hyena on Netflix about a corrupt detective falls down the rabbit hole trying to fix his worsening problems.

Really good watch and use of colour. Savagely violent in parts.

Inherent Vice last weekend.

Joaquin Pheonix plays a stoner PI who gets dragged in to investigating the disappearance of his ex-girlfriends new boyfriend. The plot is incomprehensible and at 2 and a half hours long it felt too long, however it was well shot and the cast was excellent. Had some great lines too.

I quite enjoyed it 7/10.

Fury road.

Hmmm I really don't get the hype over this. Perhaps a second viewing might help.

Tom hardy was wasted. Might as well gave not been there.mshould have called it tetchy furiosa road.

There was one plus, Nicholas Hoult I thought was excellent. 5/10

Definitely a film that needs to be watched at the cinema to get the full benefit. If you didn't like the cinematography then I feel sorry for you.

Don't worry those two never enjoy anything.

Untrue, I assume I just rarely agree with you based on your comment? Doesn't make either of us wrong as that's just the way subjectivity works.

Finally got round to watching Chappie last night, I actually really enjoyed it, reminded me of Short Circuit which I loved as a kid.
