I'm sure that re-runs will keep the brand alive for merch purposes for years. Some of the t-shirt designs are pretty cool.
Dunno how viable the Bar & Grill is though.
I've seen the t-shirts on sale at Matalan. I think the market is a bit flooded with them now. I suspect RRR has made more than enough money out of them already to not give a toss though. I read his autobiography a while ago. Seems like a decent chap behind all the hype.Dunno how viable the Bar & Grill is though.
The whole Bar n Grill thing is very dead isn't it, lawyers fighting over the branding rights? Sounds like whoever set the deals up did a really crappy job. From the earliest shows you could see it coming.
It's quite funny watching this from the early shows onwards, they really evolved their format quickly from a Wheeler Dealers clone into basically a parody of a couple of aspects of their own show. Soon stops being entertaining as there's only so much ruining & flipping of cars in a compressed timeframe that you can absorb. Shouty idiot with fake negotiations act soon gets tired too.
It's not the worst of these shows by far but it gets old quickly.

Anyone watching the Youtube Channel?
Yes, it seems to have a lot less BS than the tv show. Some interesting finds (and a lot not so interesting). We don't have to put up with his wky bearded mate either. A shame he seems to have lost a lot of the old crew, and the GM operation does seem to have scaled back a bit.As ever what you see in media is not necessarily what is real...
Quite enjoying the Dennis Collins channel too, learning a lot about classic Jeeps!

I am. Can't quite work it out though. Still got the huge premises with only a few employees and none of the old GMG crew. Seems to be a bit of a vanity project now.
Several of the "stars" of US shows have effectively gone on strike because the parent company was too controlling of everything they do. Think Prince and George Michael. They were so eager to sign contracts to make that initial break for stardom they did not realise how it would screw them once they had made it.When Richard signed up to make the show he signed over the rights to his merchandise and his appearance fees. The first to break this mould was Rachel Ray (Celebrity Chef) and she made hundreds of millions as a result. The next were Chip and Joanna from "Flipping Out" who took a hiatus to let their contract run out. That one was controversial because rumors were flying around about their marriage and once it was found out it was about money they lost some of their "wholesome" image. In Chip's case, he had a totally separate business that discovery wanted a cut of.
Richard is riding out his contract so he can sign one that is less restrictive and can make the step up in terms of money. I like his stuff on the youtube channel because it has no BS jeopardy and they are just having a bit of fun.

That makes sense, thanks. When Richard signed up to make the show he signed over the rights to his merchandise and his appearance fees. I cannot get into his YouTube channel. I was a big fan of the TV show but I find his YouTube stuff just plain boring. Apart from the stupid school bus project all he does is buy various cars which we never see again (I assume he just sells them on as they are). He also seems to review local restaurants for some reason. What use that to 99.9% of the population? Just seems that he is desperately trying to keep himself relevant by churning out any old crap at the moment. He really should watch Dennis Collins channel to see it should be done.

I guess he picked up the restaurant reviews from Dennis, but at least Dennis actually visits one in the town he is buying a car from and not some random local place.Has anyone got any suggestions to some others in the similar vain of GMG/Dennis Collins on Youtube?
I know that the Kindig ones are one some subscriber channel (but not sure if we can get it unless we use a vpn - might be wrong).
Also, when Dennis used to make an appearance on F'n'L, i always thoughts of him as abit creepy/weird but seems ok in his vids, gets his hands dirty, offers to take the former owners to lunch etc. very knowledgeable chap it seems but i have no idea where he stores all the cars he buys or if they ever restore them? I imagine they could do another show just one that?
