Good, back on track, enjoyed that. Liked Aarons remark how if he had his way, he'd cut the Firebirds up into pieces and be doing doughnuts in the car park. And also Jordan telling the re-build specialist that the producers like to create non existent crises, re the distorted bonnet. I wonder if that's why he got the heave hoscratchchin

Yeah really enjoyed that bit - if it was indeed a big issue, they'd have simply re-shot it or edited it out.

Back on form, although the preview of the 'difficult chat' with the staff next episodes has been played out again and again on every discovery reality show for decades.

Just catching up with last weeks us release, another filler, another switch off after 2 minutes, its getting tedious now, I'd rather have half the amount of shows with decent content than this garbage.

Jordan and Tom apparently got the boot after telling a manager, who would seem not to be someone who appears on the show, to chill the f*** out after a row about letting a disabled visitor to the workshop have a picture taken next to a car. Seems Richard took a dim view of this.

That seems to come from someone who may have an agenda.. After all, there would be unfair dismissal issues.

Jordan clearly wanted out, Tom was a cereal fire-ee.

As big fan of the show, this series was over done/ out too quick.

3 or 4 great builds, usual fun - find cars, let A-rons brain decide, and build.

The rest of the episodes, the you tube vids, and the top 50 - not needed!

Caught one of the early series the other day, so so much better than of late.
Still enjoy the program to a degree so happy enough to keep watching.

Discovery-milking it.

I did the same over the weekend, probably episode 2 or 3 of series one or something - very, very different programme, 80% of the action happens on the 'ramp' with Arron and the boys spannerring away.

yeah, I've done similar, but a lot of their earlier builds were very 'cut and shut' though, enjoying the better quality of restoration in this series

Nice finale, but there is a whiff of worry in the air, like they are still finding their way, how they want the show to go. perhaps there is some Discovery/Monkey tension.

Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest.
Seems there was from the start. Discovery wanted them to up sticks and set up the garage in California for filming.
RR has said it's his way or not at all. Let's hope so.

The two Firebird episodes have been pretty good, but I don't for one minute believe that they got the two cars done in exactly 60 days by the skin of their teeth with the penalty clauses hanging over them if they failed.

Can't believe he sacked those two - their hillbilliness made it more entertaining for me frown

Agree re the Firebirds.

We had loads of talking, RR wringing his hands over the 10 grand clause, dramatic shots of the guys working supposedly flat out all night etc. and then a big slot about the guys coming to collect them and another huge drama about the will they / won't they reject the cars...

...and barely any decent shots of the detail of the finished cars! Arrrgghhh!

I wanted to see all the angles of the finished cars, underneath them, and all inside the engine bays!

It's the "Discovery Channel Reality Show" way, though. Contrived deadlines, setbacks, drama and 'suspense'. It's by no means the worst culprit though.

As nice as the firebirds were I'd have been screwing about with the merc !

What I really want to see is what the feck is going on with that '36 3 window thats always sat in the garage in various states of disrepair, in the recent ones its had the roof stripped to bare metal, wondered if they were going to chop it and/or fill the roof ? It looks fairly original from what I've seen.

Off to Dallas (well, Irving) on Sunday for work, I wonder if his bar is as expensive as his cars scratchchin
