Freddy has got a lot of reasons to dislike Frank, on the face of it they're friends, but it's only one-way, it's hard to be friends when they've never been equal, plus Frank is at least partly responsible for Freddy losing his business and his son being locked up.
I think his son got himself locked up.Regarding the business, I felt that Frank was genuinely upset about when he had to tell him he couldn't go to the restaurant anymore.
Freddy sold his business and he could have kept it going just as well without the president visiting had his gangbanger son not kept the gun when he was told to get rid of it. ::/
Again just my opinion, it's a very very good bit of TV but I think the best has been and gone. I found it much more intriguing when Frank was climbing the political ladder. Now he's at the top it's lost a bit of something although how he'll hold on and the republican candidate will be interesting.
I just wish they'd worked it in that Claire took that bullet instead of Meecham

I think it's worked a million times better this series having Claire and Frank back on the same page, so much more joint evil scheming, its brilliant. I just wish they'd worked it in that Claire took that bullet instead of Meecham
The only things I haven't enjoyed in S4 is crazy Doug going off on one again and the actor playing Conway is a Keanu-Reeves-level plank of wood. Terrible.

But Franks okay?
Odd view.
She's far worse than Frank is, utterly self motivated and ice cold at all times. Odd view.
Enjoyed season 4 but agree with the poster above who suggests it's best days are behind it. Frank's manipulation of everyone around him in order to progress was always the most compelling part for me, especially with the regular 4th wall breaks that came with it. I think watching someone struggle to attain something will always be more interesting than watching them try to hold onto it.

Claire will do whatever it takes for her ambition to be satisfied.
Just watched the last two episodes of series 4, hurry up with series 5.
Not sure why some people see Clare as worse than Frank; to my knowledge she hasn't yet shut someone in a garage with a car engine running or shoved anyone under a train!
I think making Frank's opponent (and his horrible son) unlikeable is too manipulative - OK, we're supposed to root for Frank, a bit, but it works better if his targets have something that says "actually, we're the good guys".
