Production has been "permanently suspended".

What a mess. The whole thing. Whether true or not. Not getting into it. But what a mess.

All on the basis of one allegation by one person of something that is supposed to have happened over 30 years ago.

I'm not saying that anything has or hasn't happened or that it has only happened to one or more than one person.

But it's hardly the fk fest it's made out to be.

Nothing I've read (so far) points to anything other than a bloke trying to get with another bloke and actually taking no for an answer.

I'm lucky enough to have not been raped or diddled. So I have no personal experience. But I wouldn't wait 30 years to bring up what was basically a half-assed attempt to possibly instigate something sexual.

Idd, and considering Spacey was 26 at the time it was hardly abuse of power.

The guy was 14, but he was at a party at someones house, how old did he look? How drunk was everybody involved?
I'm not trying to downplay anything here, but I'm just thinking of some girls I knew when I was 16, they could have easily passed for 20 and jailbaited people.
As said, Spacey wasn't a big name back then so it's not like he could have made some sort of power play.

And then... 32 years later. FFS.

Really?

If it was anyone else, some random 26 year old bloke off the street that was accused of messing about with boys of 14 and 16 you would think it was no big deal and that they maybe just looked a bit older than they actually were?

I believe in innocent until proven guilty and it feels like it may be a bit of a witch hunt going on...but I would also not be so quick to say it's all fine and nothing to see here.

I think just the opposite. I think celeberties get punished and branded with the slightest accusation.

It does seem to be very knee-jerk, but thats the climate we live in now. Any sniff of improper behaviour and it's game over immediately.

It seems like a good way to oust people from the media who you dislike.

Anyway, this one time I was at a party with Steve Wright, Katie Price, Alan Sugar and Piers Morgan....

st sticks.

Even if Spacey is 100% innocent and those who accused turn out to be telling fat porkie lies he’ll never have another acting role again.

I guess the usual rule of innocent until proven guilty doesn’t apply

And that's not fair is it?

So something needs to be done about it.

Turns out that the final decision on House of Cards WAS made specifically because of the KS incident.

Oh dear.

More of this and I don’t think we’ll even get a season 6 because they haven’t finished filming it. Or I suppose they could kill him off mid season.

But KS is the lead character and writer of the show take him away what’s left?

Also doesn’t he have significant investment in the production company? So even if you do take him out of it you’ll still be paying him.
