This whole season 6 just seems to be a mess, but after just finishing s06e06, the main thing bugging me is,

where does claire seem to be getting all the people to poison people and shoot others in cafe's? It seems she just has large amounts of people willing to kidnap or kill people at the drop of a hat
I had exactly the same thoughts.

She did in a couple of episodes what Frank would do in an entire season!
We started watching before Christmas and have just finished. By Series 5 it was getting very silly, but Series 6 was just plain old tosh.

In Series 1 Clare was the supportive wife / charity boss, but showed a slight ruthlessness when she sacked her co-worker. Quite how we are supposed to believe that in reality she had Presidential hopes and was only supporting hubby to get her into play. Before becoming the biggest murderess since Countess Elizabeth Bathory.

I have to admit that if I had watched it before Trump came along most of the manoeuvrings would have seemed utterly implausible, but he really helped there.

Spacey was consistent and brilliant - it’s just a pity that he and the scriptwriters lost the plot towards the end.

I do hope that other Netflix series do not get flakey towards the end - it simply makes you feel that you have wasted a great chunk of your life.

I quite enjoyed it all but yes, plot had huge fail holes over last few seasons. I felt, over the course, it was worth watching to the end though.

Different note, Queen of the South is back for season 4. Totally ridiculous baddies and plot but as enjoyable as ever

We have binged this from S01 over the last month or so. I could not remember where I had watched it up to before but was convinced Frank had a heart attack at some point....... must be confused with something else maybe. This, 24, Homeland etc make confusion for POTUS!!!!
Spacey I think is brilliant ..... his turns to the camera raised the odd chuckle. RW does not have the same link. The last season without him is lacking significantly. Such a shame.

My opinion is Trump watched this and decided “I can do that”!!!!

I've finally got around to watching this, friend gave me series one on DVD. I'm 4 episodes in and to be honest I'm a bit underwhelmed. So much so It's been over a week since I last watched an episode, it just hasn't gripped me. I'm going to give it another go, maybe over the Christmas break, will sit down and watch a few episodes back to back, see if I can get into it.
I finally got through the complete box set. 71 episodes? Watched it from the start again, over the past month on Netflix. Conclusion....

I did eventually get in to it, took a few episodes but watching three at a time helped my concentration. It is slow, with too much padding, some episodes are irrelevant really, the one where he goes back to his college and gets drunk in the library etc. The one where he goes to the civil war reconstruction. Yes they gave you a bit more insight into Frank's character but I could have skipped them and not missed anything.

That said I did really enjoy it, to the point where I was looking forward to sitting down in the evening to get my next fix. Sadly, It became more of a soap opera as it progressed, last series was poor, no Frank, no show. Hopefully they will let them all rest in peace.

I've got the original BBC trilogy on DVD, will have a re-watch over the next few weeks, haven't seen it for long time.

Bit late to the party but just finished watching the last episode having started on this one a few months back. Seeing the thread started in 2013 has reminded how old this one is.

As has heen said, the first 3 or so seasons really gripped me, as FU made his way up the political ladder. Felt a bit underwhelmed like many others by the last season, I do wonder what it could have been if KS had reamained in it!

KS really was absolutely superb in it, fantastic actor.

Just rewatched the first 2 seasons. Still great TV. - But they should have stopped there. Would have made it a absolute classic.

I don't want to make light of it, but your post lacks detail.

3 people who accused Spacy of misconduct have sadly died.

a Women who had spent time in prison for Stalking and making Death Threats towards Spacey was hit by a car, some outlets will say "the driver was never charged" like it was some great mystery, the driver didn't flee the scene, the Police decided it wasn't their fault.

Ari Behn who was some kind of Artist and Norwegian Prince was groped by Spacey in 2007 and didn't speak of it until 2017. From Wiki "he said he didn't feel violated by the incident and that he "had a wonderful time" at the party. "I didn't experience it as sexual harassment for me it was a compliment.". He sadly took his own life in 2019, but given his history, it seems very unlikely that Spacey's action drove him to it.

The only Death that really matters (obviously only in that it matters in regards to Kevin Spacey) Was 'John Doe' an anonymous accuser who claimed Spacey sexually assaulted him. Sadly he died of Cancer before the trial could start so the Judge closed the case.

He's far from off the hook though.

Anthony Rapp and another anonymous accuser are suing him in the US, a case which at the moment it looks like Spacey could win (only because he can get it thrown out if the anonymous accuser refuses to go public).

The CPS are also looking into accusations in the UK.

I wonder if all the production houses reacted far far too quickly and editing him out of a completed film….. due to the fact #Metoo was everywhere and no one wanted to be tarnished by that and not seen to take very little action.

Let’s just suppose he is actually innocent?

You could say that about many drama series, 2-3 series seems the sweet spot. Suit’s, Billions and House of Cards. The American’s just don’t seem to know when it has run it’s course.
