I had the next James Bond chat with a mate a few days ago, granted we have it on a semi regular basis and I've come up with a less obvious choice.

Luke Evans, British bad guy fella in last couple of Fast and the Furious films, Welsh, relatively unknown outside of the people who watch that franchise and he's only a fairly minor character in it anyway, i reckon he could be a decent none well known option.

Or failing that just give Damien Lewis the gig.
Luke Evans is also on the Disney side of things now as well, having been in Beauty and the Beast a couple of years ago, he was in The Hobbit movies

Plus I think he's too old now as well, he's already 40. I know we've had older Bonds in their first role, but I don't expect we'll be seeing that again

A new Bond is going to have to be around 34-35 now, ready to be about 38 come the next film. Though if there's speculation on Jack Lowden (currently aged 29) then we could be seeing a change in direction.

they are currently making a film with Craig and his wardrobe of norman wisdom suits. Why would they announce a new bond before this film is out?

They won't, but that doesn't stop us speculating.

Supposed industry rumour kicking around of Jack Lowden hence my post which bumped the thread and hence my visit to the bookies
Are you his agent?

He looks like a bad Tom Hiddleston clone, which is the only reason I can think for the speculation.

Afraid not, just something I heard. worth a punt at 33/1. I haven't heard any other decent suggestions to be fair. Tom Hiddleston had a brief chance but I think that was fleeting. It wont be him, too famous, same goes for Cavill, Hardy, Elba. Richard Madden is a tricky one but I think they will go in a different direction to the norm, like they did with Daniel Craig

Fassbender would have been perfect but too old now.

Also sounds like a poisoned chalice controlled by PC thinking rather than a hardcore spy adventure.

True, but if the franchise suffers like the Star Wars one has after that last joke of a film, it won't last for long.

I only need to star in the first 15 minutes to be honest. That'll do me for life.

Acting: done.

I'd seriously consider Philip Winchester (who played Stonebridge in Strike Back).
Ooh. I like him. Is he bond though? Quite similar to Craig in some respects. Not dripping with charisma but also not smarmy either. Physically he's in great shape.

Just one teeny tiny problem. He's fkING AMERICAN. That's sacrilege. Although Lazenby was Australian I guess.

Not a bad shout though.
True that Philip Winchester is American but the part he is best known for playing (Stonebridge in Strike Back) was a British part and he put on a fairly perfect South English accent.

I think in the second picture Rory has a look of a youthful Bond about him.

His mother's English, wasn't Bond from a split nationality parentage? smile

I’m surprised they haven’t done a Bond Origins or something like that to squeeze every drop out of it like’s been done with X Men and Sherlock Holmes, etc.
He was a Commander in the Royal Navy. Must have got into a few scrapes to come to the attention of Military Intelligence?

I suppose this compromises any future Bonds a bit. But then we are quite happy to accept an un-ageing, shape-shifting Bond.

In that way the character of Bond is like Dr. Who.
