More good things from me. I've watched 5 episodes today, I really like the characters and the settings. I hope they make another series.

we enjoyed it,

it's very definitely something that can help fill the gap between series of GoT...

But actually stands up well in it's own right.

Much better than the dumbed down wishy washy pap the bbc fob us off with - The white Queen and Atlantis ...

Roll on Series 2.

If you have a PS3/PS4 and a Lovefilm account, you can download series one.

When is series two out, does anyone know?

Saying Vikings is close to Game of Thrones is a bit unfair. Vikings isn't bad but it's not in the same league as GoT

It's a lot better than Atlantis but I've had sts I'd rather watch over Atlantis!

Bump - this is back at the end of this week.

27th in USA and 28th in the UK - Lovefilm I believe?

Looking forward to it.

I'm quite enjoying this. The characters seem more subtle in their engagements with one another than simply black or white. Apparently the attack on Lindesfarne set the British opinion of the Vikings as uniformly violent "pirates" for the following millennia. I like that we get to see them in this series from their point of view and not just bellowing hard-man characters.

I'm reading up on Vikings now (a bit of internet reading), and their (enduring) influence on the UK and Europe, and I can hardly believe that they managed to cross the Atlantic centuries before Columbus. It's quite fascinating.

Most likely quite a few peoples made the trip.

I've actually just cancelled my Lovefilm subscription, which will end when I send my last DVDs back. With Vikings episodes popping up every week I haven't sent them back just yet...

Yes indeed. Quite humbling achievements really. The world must have seemed such a big place then. Hell, it *was* a big place even back in the early '70s when I grew up.

Renewed for third season.

This series has been a little slow burning for me, think (hope) it will pick up as things progress though.

Enjoyed season 1 greatly, about to start of season 2.

Feel it needs a little more fighting action (beech scene was great) and some double crossing, unsure where the story is heading, England raiding was getting good then suddenly ceased to go off on a crazy pilgrimage and onto Sweden.

Breathtaking landscapes too.
