Is ragnar actually dead?
We saw him getting bittten by snakes but there's loads of imagery of the view from his pit and not really much of his body.
I'm expecting him to jump out of a coffin swinging an axe, again like he did in Paris.
Odin (one eyed chap with the ravens) visiting his sons was due to his death. Ragnar did die 'historically' in a pit of snakes so I'm guessing he is dead. We saw him getting bittten by snakes but there's loads of imagery of the view from his pit and not really much of his body.

Just thought it was more dreamy Viking symbolism.

Jesus Christ, just finished that episode. At the risk of sounding like a wimp, that was a bit much for me. fking horrible.
One thing Ive always struggled with in Vikings is that the 'heros' (as in the Vikings) are just so hard to like - I must be the only person in the world who really wants Aethulwulf to seriously fk them up in the next episode.

There was barbarism on all sides back then. Hell, we still have this even today in form or another! One thing Ive always struggled with in Vikings is that the 'heros' (as in the Vikings) are just so hard to like - I must be the only person in the world who really wants Aethulwulf to seriously fk them up in the next episode.

I'm with the vikings. They're having all the fun. The po faced saxons are all about god and incest. Ha, fair enough. Don't get me wrong, love the show, just would like to see someone give em a taste of their own medicine. Can't wait for the next episode, teaser looks epic. Might try to hold off and wait for the last two to be up on Amazon and make an evening of it.Edited by scrubchub on Thursday 26th January 23:32

Hmm, not sure...... Aethulwulf's wikipedia says he ruled for 19 years after his fathers death so he should be around for a while.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivar_the_Boneless
Just catching up on Vikings and still have an episode to go. The last one I saw when they invade England was terrific, probably the best this season. I know it's acting and all that but Bjorn's speech to the other brothers telling them he was the leader of the invasion was amazing, you could tell he was Ragnor's son (yes, acting I know but it was bloody brilliant). The sight of that army coming up and over the hill was amazing too.
