Anyone still watching?
The mid season break was a bit of a suprise. I know it's the final series so characters would go but didn't expect this one.
I think im up to Ep5 or 6... Its not bad, but possibly run its course. The mid season break was a bit of a suprise. I know it's the final series so characters would go but didn't expect this one.
Love how Lagatha hobbles around with white hair and fake wrinkles around her eyes, but when the camp is under attack she reverts to badass shield-maiden!
(Still would)
I hadn't realised it was taking a mid-season break until I read it above. IMDB says it doesn't return until December, as they've done with previous half season breaks. But it's not really a half-season break if there are 10 months between each part is it?
Season 6 has definitely felt different, stories rushed and feeling incomplete, with the sense that the writers weren't sure what to include and exclude, and how best to wrap up certain story strands and characters.

I thought I was up to date but obviously not
It is great but dragging on now. I think this Russian aspect is going to be so rushed to complete the series.
I'd love to know what happened to Rolo in France etc but it will be unknown now
Whilst much of the Viking history is not certain as it only survived in tales, legends, and folklore (records were not kept) we do know quite a bit of Rollo's life, as records were kept by the Normans and their successors. It is great but dragging on now. William the Conqueror was a g.g.g.g.g.grandson* of Rollo, as an example.
*I think I got that right, from memory I think WtC was a 4th or 5th gen. descendant of Rollo. Stand to be corrected if I'm mistaken.
I've been disappointed by how quickly they've rushed through the Rus story.
Netflix have ordered a spin-off series from the same teams and companies who have done Vikings. Few details below;

Of course we'll have to wait and see if it does actually happen, but I'd be interested in this if they can do the stories the same justice they pulled off with the early seasons of Vikings.

Honestly gutted, I was in Rouen last week and if I’d have known I’d have gone to the Cathedral!
Anyway, where lacking continuity as pointed out above, the filming of Lagatha’s final scenes really was excellent. Drawn out, over the top, and really great telly.
As were the angel’s assets, and a shame the fight scenes didn’t conclude the Harold/ Bjorn story in a better way...

Just finished the latest series. Editing was rubbish and production values equally so. Completely unnatural sets and some scenes featured villagers performing rites straight out of Cannibal Holocaust. Just daft. More money than good sense spent on the series = lack of cohesion in terms of plot and dialogue and a good series ruined. Unbelievable how they've cocked this up trying to make it a bigger production, the original had a modest budget and it showed but it made up for it with shrewd scripts and a certain charm.

Nobody’s really dead in vikings until you see them sent out in the ship or burning on the pyre.
Trailer for the final part out, and look who's back. https://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi171819289/
Still looks decent though, and hopefully a decent send off for it.
