I loved the last kingdom books, tried the series but the cast don’t match my minds eye of the cast in the books (not even close)..
So I tried Viking’s Valhalla on Netflix.
Season 1 - ok, watchable, few bits of curious history / not sure it would happen (women warlords? Back then?
Season 2- am on so 3 and think I will give up. Unarmed slave women murdering a war party? A pagan / Christian learning to read and write fluently in 3 languages from a Muslim in the space of 6 weeks?
It’s just daft at this point. I thought some of the negative reviews / memes about Netflix wokifying everything was probably just neckbeards on the internet, but this has gone far enough that it’s just daft.
Pity, it was reasonably interesting (and fun to watch for comedy budget editing, like modern props appearing from time to time, or a full on invasion of “1200 soldiers” being about 35 people on close up shots
