When someone who is very talented becomes rich and successful, the fact that they had a famous dad does not make it nepotism. And he didn't even play bloody poker!

I'd say it is her success at poker and as others have said - intelligence, articulate, relevance, humour that has propelled her to where she is. The fact that poker isn't constantly mentioned is irrelevant. People move into different sectors and they don't have to constantly refer to their origins. I had no idea her dad was famous, I thought she was famous in her own right and that always seemed completely understandable based on the above.

Same. No idea of who her father is...and considering the mental midgets that do appear on panel shows, it's clear that nepotism isn't the reason VC is there.

I suppose you think Frank Lampard would never had made it as a pro footballer if it weren't for his dad? Her brother Giles is also well know and a very successful journalist. Funny how two undeserving people bereft of any talent managed to succeed in a very competitive and cut throat industry just because their dad was well known. You'd have thought they would have been rumbled by now and kicked out.

I enjoy Giles Coren's output, but it's fairly obvious who the really talented sibling is!Her brother Giles is also well know and a very successful journalist.
