Finally got round to catching up with this. A really good watch and another strong performance from Lacey Turner. She had a good role in Being Human too.

Feel it was left open nicely but also happy to be left thinking she went on to have a career to make her sad sack of a dad proud!

Just watched it on IPlayer and coming from a long serving soldier, i thought it was very good, if not one of the better ones that they do about the Army.
Pirbright bit was pretty realistic and i think only once did i say to myself "that wouldnt happen".

Actually pretty good, just watched it now after reading this thread. Pirbright was fairly realistic if a little watered down, brought back many smells and sounds, the feeling of camaraderie unknown outside a British Army training establishment. I'm generally very critical of military dramas but there was a lot about that one that was bang on the money, Lacey Turner's character was believable, she looked like she was going through Phase 1 too. One gripe: the ginger northern lass was a bit too... erm... chunky.

Just been told that my soon to be brother in law has just been into the AFCO to apply to join the army and I'm so happy he has finally done so! He's 20, superfit but has been a bit of a waster and as bum, boneidle living at home and no job etc. I think this will give him exactly what he needs.

As another serving soldier, I went through pirbright nearly 6 years ago and I really enjoyed it, it was actually pretty realistic with the differences from reality you could see they were there for the story and you could forgive them.

I will admit I don't remember anyone in our platoon passing a locker inspection, maybe we were just all rubbish!!

Just watched it...

I loved it. I have no idea how true to life it is, as I only got as far as taking the BARB test, but I watched it all.

Can't wait for Sunday.

Cheaper, more readily available and easier to direct (in a cinematic sense) than a Chinny.
But like the people, the aircraft was just waaaaaaay too clean and had a conspicuous lack of defensive aids hanging off it.
This is what a war-weary helipcoter looks like in terms of weathering......

there has beena real move towards dedicated medevac aircraft in recent operations

US 'PEDRO' taskings uses USAF MH-60 and Paramedic lead teams with a second *H60 for Force Protection troops in addition to any top cover

UK MERT uses Chinook with Doctor / Nurse /Paramedic teams and carries the FP troops on the chinook
