Looks like I'm going to go against the grain here and admit that the family Kinky (myself included) have found the last 2 programmes absolutely dreadful. So much so, we switched it off after about 20 minutes.

From what has become a Saturday highlight is now an "oh" frown
If I'd only watched the first 20 minutes of last night's I wouldn't have been impressed either. How can you judge how good the plot is if you don't watch to the end?

I saw it all the way through but found it so far to be the worst episode. Maybe I'm just not warming to the new Doctor?

I'll probably love it by the time we get to the end of the series

Not sure Capaldi is the best replacement for Adrian Lester.

Odd not to have the scene of them all celebrating in the bar at the end, too.

It simply did not engage with us - simple as that and a unanimous decision. Same as last week. The first 3 though we did enjoy.

Now then. The Tellers mate kept in captivity. Where have I seen that before? Oh, I know, Star Trek TNG-Encounter at Farpoint.

I really do need to get out more often

I agree entirely. I'm completely baffled by the positivity expressed for the last 2 episodes.
I suppose it just goes to show they can't please the whole audience all of the time.
Anyway, my favourite is the film Dalek's Invasion Earth 2159 AD!

The first episodes seemed to be aimed at 7 year olds, the last 2 did at least seem to be targeted at 10-12 year olds. Maybe I have seen too many Star Treks, but I called the plot device as soon as I saw the Teller. It just seemed obvious.

I liked last week but thought this week was a real mess.

Err......because that's what people REALLY do.
I didn't like the first 15 minutes of an episode of Longmire so I switched over. Just because it's Dr Who its not on some almighty pedestal. I should be blunt and say that I haven't given up on it but after 3 weeks I too have stopped bothering to watch it live and will just look at it on the recording. I simply don't click with the new Doctor as much. I don't find him mysterious, darkly engaging, charismatic or whatever. I just find him a little unpleasant and think it's a bad version of the Doctor so a lot of my interest has gone.
I accept that's juts how it is and accept that other people may think he is the best portrayal ever. I don't claim to "own" the Doctor or to be regarded as any more of a fan than anyone else. I do own all the Tennant episodes on DVD and most of the Matt Smith ones so I'm not exactly the casual viewer. I just don't find this new version all that good.

I also don't think he will last and really wouldn't be surprised if he went after one series anyway. If he does than I strongly suspect that they would return with a younger actor. Just my 2p worth but it's as valid as anyone else's.

To state that someone couldn't judge a plot after only watching just under 50% may be factually correct but it's what people do out in the real world.

Thought it was just my house that doesn't like Dr Who! My son (7) loved the first couple of episodes - he was a bit disappointed there wasn't more T-Rex in the first one - but since then seems to have got bored. The thing is, he loves the characters in the show, but dislikes the programme. I just dislike everything about it. It's not been the same since K9 is no longer in it & the Dr doesn't have a big scarf and a jelly baby obsession.

This seems to happen every series. See the "Coming Soon" ads and think "ooh good". Watch the first one and quite enjoy it. By the 4th or 5th episode it's gone from the "Series Link".

Still, not watching it it frees up an hour on Saturday nightlaugh

I think the writing of this series has been very lazy, the Dalek episode reminded me of journey to the centre of the Tardis and the episode where Matt Smith's Doctor was miniaturised. The Robin Hood episode, clockwork robots...again. Saturdays episode reminded me of the episode where the whole UK was a spaceship being carried by a tortured whale type creature, just like the Teller was tortured by it's missing partner.

For the first time the show is no longer appointment TV, I don't even record it.
I've watched a few episodes (have there been 5?)
1 lost interested after 20 minutes and didn't bother rewinding
2 Didn't watch
3 Robin Hood? Same as 1
4 Didn't watch
5 Watched it last night, disappointed.

Trouble is when the viewing figures drop they'll blame Capaldi. I think he and Jemma Coleman are doing the best they can with the material available.
Highlight of last night was JLC in her suit / tie, but that's just me.

K-9 was the beginning of the end for the original series.

In fact when you add K-9 to Sylvestor McCoy and Bonnie Langford it's a wonder anybody watched at all.

Listen could have been called "WAKE UP!" as I fell asleep watching it.

The Minotaur maze episode. Sorry I mean Time Heist. Was I the only one bitterly disappointed that it was not The Master?

Were you the only one who didn't guess who it was immediately?

I did start to thing that as time went on but thought nah! too obvious.

Hope they brink back Psi and Saibra as I quite liked their characters.

Also like the Extras that are on iPlayer as well. Just a shame they dropped the BBC three version.

Personally I like Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman but am seriously unimpressed by the writing skills of Steven Moffat. IMHO he peeked with 'Blink' which is still one of the best episodes of Dr Who that I've ever seen.
