Although.....I'm not sure we should praising these little nuggets that are planted to make SF fans feel smart. We could be falling into a trap.

(and apparently, I'm wrong about the voice of the book - it was someone else doing a very good job of sounding almost exactly the same).

Did we watch the same programme? Barely kept my attention.

IMO that was easily the best episode of the series so far.
Yup. At least it kept me watching, unlike the last ones where I either wanted to throw something at the TV or fall asleep.

yes I had to look it up, it sounded like Michael Gambon, I thought it was Michael Gambon, but it was John Sessions, channelling the Gambon hehe

I liked that one, yes the jump from Clara storming off last time to being back this time seems like an episode was missed out at first, but the beach scene sorted that out. The mummy looked good, Jenna Coleman dressed up, Capaldi did a Tom Baker and had jelly babies.

All complaints are being read in the voice of Pee-Wee Herman when he got his bicycle stolen.

Really enjoyed that episode, more of the same please smile

It wasn't fixed in 2 minutes, there was thought to the solution from the start.

Very well written story, good dialogue too

Thought that was the best episode of a pretty dreadful series so far.

You have the opportunity to make a Doctor Who crossover with any other property (the BBC spared no expense, and has given you full creative control). Which one?

Firefly. Which has the added bonus of forcing it back into existence. The Tardis parked in the cargo bay of Serenity.... come on. Fanfic, go! In fact fanfic probably already has gone...

Make it so!

Perhaps I'm missing something, but one moment Clara and the other woman are stuck in a room even the Sonic Screwdriver can't open, then the next they're walking back up the train so the Doctor can use her as bait. How did they get out?

Check this out, one of the best (if not the best) bits from the series so far.

Desperately trying for the Amy Wino vibe, not working.

Agree with this. Far better than last weeks sad malarky

Next week's episode, Flatline, is also written by Jamie Mathieson. So hopefully it should be another good one. It certainly looks interesting from the 'Next Time' trailer.

That really worked for us - Capaldi was excellent, it moved things on and the mystery was well formed and neatly resolved. Frank Skinner was good too, the little bit at the end with him was a nice detail. Foxes' cover was cute. Looking forward to next week's episode now.

Scandalous thought, eh? This episode was rather enjoyable, but of course plenty of people are attempting to be permanent grouchy critics, hating everything. I could understand it with the moon ep, that was utterly chaotic. But the rest of the series has been pretty good. Well, both my son and me have been enjoying the show.
