Not sure if it was just my TV or if it was some story twist I didn't get but the very last minute or so I couldn't hear what he was saying or the old guy from Harry Potter.
It seems that some broadcasts had a sound failure at the end of the program. We had to watch the last few minutes again on iPlayer to get the dialog.

One of the better series ends. Pretty bleak, but it tied it all together into a good ending that worked. Enjoyed the Missy/Master arc (though where that can go from here is a bit unclear), Bill got a good ending and Nardol got some good laughs (annoying unfinished business though - it'd be good to tie that up and see some more of him).

Capaldi has been badly served for scripts under Moffat, but the BBC seemed to have driven the show into the grounds in terms of development in previous series. This series pulled it back from the brink for me, but it still seems too dependent on a too small a team to create each story (random plot holes and magic endings). There were real flashes of what could have been though and I'm gutted that Capaldi won't get to go further with it.

The new show runner has a lot to achieve - but how cool to have a Christmas special with 'William Hartnel' to bridge the gap. Really looking forward to that.

For a minute or two there I dared to hope that Heather was going to be the new companion.

Damn.

Missy/Master remembered being told to carry a spare dematerialisation circuit but forgot about being shot in the back

Seems a one was more important than the other.

I don't for one second believe her cheeky grin was knowing they cycle had been completed.

Missy/Master. Missy is apparently no more with no regeneration, Master went back to his TARDIS and may be no more or may regenerate into Missy... possibly stuck in a timey wimey loop now of John Simm killing his future self. Option 3, they do a 'War Doctor' and there's a generation of Master we haven't seen in-between John Simm and Missy.

I think Bill is done and off on her happy ending adventure with Heather, possibly into spin off land but probably not. Same with Nardol, looking after the people on the spaceship, maybe lowering himself to human happy fun time with Hazran (Samantha Spiro) hehe

I don't think we know that John Simm regenerates into Missy do we? There could be a hundred Masters in between. Or, Missy survives, John Simm survives or we get a new one. Seems to have been left open.

Maybe she did remember her earlier self shooting her in the back, and took some precautions somehow to ensure she'd survive

Doesn't seem like Missy or Nardole will be returning http://metro.co.uk/2017/07/01/doctor-who-michelle-...

That's not as bad as I imagined then, I thought the director/writer was trying some mental arty farty thing. I did my best lip reading so I'll not bother downloading it just for the last minute.

Good to see the series end on a low. Complete and utter garbage.

Without doubt for me this has been the worst written series of Dr Who ever. I feel sorry for Peter Capaldi. He has had such terrible scripts to work with that he will unfairly be remembered as one of the worst doctors ever.

I enjoyed the finale and I enjoyed most of this series.

It is certainly time for change though, so despite being a huge Moff fan I'm glad he's moving on. He was becoming the new JNT.

There was a lot of speculation when Capaldi announced he was leaving. Guess they've got bored biggrin
