Anyone watching this? I've never seen an ITV drama before but I am hooked, think it's the last in the series next week, who do you think killed Danny?
I think it's the the detectives husband!

I thought the same. Presumably that was the intention of the various long shots on that individual. I do admire David Tenant who has some depth as an actor and his female sergeant is equally believable. Good mix IMO. On the other hand slightly too histrionic for me as a program overall but I do think Tenant is good value.I think it's the the detectives husband!

G/F and I are watching it but it's started to feel like a bit of a chore. There's a fine line between dragging something out and building atmosphere and I think Broadchurch has stepped over it.
Let's face it, the murderer could be any of them because that's what the writer's want us to think - there are more red herring's than a fish market.

I think there is another thread somewhere, I'm enjoying it although it is a bit pedestrian and the formula of throwing up a different suspect each week is beginning to grate. I think it will be a curve ball in the form of the cub reporter, possibly in collusion with the bald plumber!
No idea who and why Danny was killed - but are riveted to Broadchurch.
Suspects: a long list including the vicar (too obvious?), Olivia Coleman's husband and why did Nigel kill Pauline Quirke's dog?

Also been watching it every week, but probably stuck with it as i am from Clevedon where a lot of it was filmed.
It's very clever how they have combined the 2 locations - if you didn't know either of the places (the beach is West Bay in Dorset iirc?) I don't think you could tell it wasn't all done in the same place, but it's strange seeing them somewhere you recognise and the next minute they are somewhere you don't!

I've watched a couple of episodes (and enjoyed them) but I think I've been distracted from the story by location-spotting in Clevedon. The house on the corner of Marshall's field, etc, etc. Has been discussed here:

Enjoying the views of Bridport and West Bay where my MIL lives, though the storyline is good in places, but a bit OTT in others. I'm finding most of the characters, even the Female detective difficult to sympathise with, and their behaviour seems most odd or exaggerated. Perhaps this is deliberate.
The problem for me is i'm impatient for the big hints around Tennant's character issues, and the other characters who have been shown to be up to something to be revealed. For me the story has not really come up wih any surprises, it wanders off to something, and you're just waiting for it to get back on track andwrap it up but you know you're going to have to wait till the the final episode. For example, the old bloke was such an obvious red herring, why spend 2 episodes on it? I suppose the show is trying to present how press intrusion and mob justice works.
I find it a but amusing that Viking Cruises cancelled their sponsorship of the show after the burning boat scene.
