Hopefully we'll get it in the US soon after. The execrable remake "Gracepoint" has just finished here. Tennant reprised his role but with a US accent. Actually it wasn't terrible by American standards, just when compared to Broadchurch.
I just finished watching the 1st series on US Netflix so I presume there is a demand for British drama over there. Why do they insist on remaking it for the States? Is it because, being such a large counntry, that many would not be able to follow the accents or how things are done over here in the UK?Just interested
Trailer for the US version. Grace Point.

Blimey! it's virtually scene for scene exactly the same. Freaky seeing David Tennant looking the same but speaking American Even the Pauline Quirk character, the mum and the sister's boyfriend look the same as well.

The new UK series doesn't follow on from series on and is not necessarily going to be a who dunnit.
Even the cast and crew have/had no idea of the plot, and were only given scripts etc a day or so before filming, plus they also filmed several different endings.

This is the worst grab for money I have seen since LOST. In fact it is worse, they have introduced characters and plot elements that were not available to the viewer in the previous series.
The constant plonking away on a piano is also ruining the effect. Feel sorry for the actors as they are doing a good job.
Easily going to be the worst TV drama of the 2015 and we are only 5 days in.. so much effort so so much bad...

Since when do the victims family have to find a brief to procecute on behalf of the CPS ?
Never, and its most likely not allowed, even if you could, and how would you know they were any good? Its not like there are league tables of QC's... whole court scene was a crook of the most appalling st.I didn't know there was to be a second series, in fact I had never heard of Broadchurch until a few nights ago when I stumbled upon it on NetFlix. Loved it and watched the whole series in 3 nights finishing late last night.
Had a look on-line to feed my 'having watched many episodes at once' fix and found out that there was a new series starting today. Talk about timing.
I'm really liking it, probably helped by the fact that it's all still fresh for me.
