Thank god for that.
I feel obliged to watch it having suffered it this far, but I've really had enough. I don't care two hoots about any of the characters. They're all annoying and whining. I hope a plane falls on the court house next week to guarantee they don't come back for Series 3.

Good job you don't feel obliged to watch coronation street then..

My bet is a 'not guilty' to end this series.

Series 3 will be the Dad on trial.

Series 4 will be the woman defective on trial.

Series 5 will be the dead boy on trial for wasting police time.

Meanwhile David Tennent will have found Maddie McCann, Shergar, Lord Lucan and the Area 49 being and has them in holiday lets in the hills...

Series One was one of the best pieces of TV drama I have seen.

WTF happened to Series 2! It plays out like a rejected Midsummer Murders script, at best!

It was a plot by the residents of West Dorset to make all the Broadchurch fans leave them alone.

Yes, I kind of feel I have to now.

I'd said I wasn't going to bother with this series, but my wife watched the first and said it was really good, so I watched it on catch up and quite enjoyed it too.

For a while it worked, but after a while I didn't care any more.

Even the wife said she's not going to bother if there's another series.

My guess is that the girl that's missing from the other murder was having an affair with the accused and murdered the boy because she saw him and he's covering for her (not really, but it's probably no less implausible than whatever's coming next week...)

Talk about stringing it out and messing with your head.

I think I probably did the murder, but I am not sure because it could be anyone I know, or anyone I don't know, but it was probably me, or maybe someone else.

It's in Bracknell, it'll screw up the traffic in Bracknell for weeks!

I know it's only telly, but would a defence lawyer really be allowed to cast allegations about the father across a courtroom in such a manner?

Apologies, I knew it was partially filmed in Bracknell, just assumed...

No worries, TBH I think we would benefit more architecturally at leaset if a plane crashed on Bracknell rather than Exeter smile

We've been watching it, but it is a big disappointment compared to series 1 - there's hardly anything in the plot that stands up to any level of scrutiny, and a lot of the courtroom stuff has been completely laughable.

Theory:

Gillespie killed girl as he was donking Claire and she saw them.

Claire took rap, and told Lee she needed help getting rid of body.

He burnt her up in incinerator.

At same time he's donking 19 year old and she's in France.

(I'll be annoyed if she is in France, because it's first thing Police would do, triangulate a missing persons phone signal)

Plot Twist: Hardy is tripping balls on Meth and it's all in his head.

This show is ste, Mrs inflicts it upon me every Tuesday. Embarassing use of cliffhangers to keep viewers hooked.

They have mentioned that, they triangulated her phone and the last place they got it was Portsmouth, on the way to France I presume but yeah, surely they would follow that up.

I'm going with the not guilty verdict, everyone goes nuts and someone kills Joe leading nicely into Series 3.

I'm surprised that this has not been as good as Series 1, I'm sure I read somewhere that it was always planned as a 3 Series arc so somewhere along the line someone must have decided to jazz it up a bit.

it's been an odd series, it can't seem to decide if it's following the murder trial or the 'other' murder. Combine that lack of focus with too many characters (all with some fault/back story) and it just looks like a mess.

It's got better over the last 2 weeks, now that they are properly investigating the bluebell murder, which makes me think they should have started with that case being re-opened (led by Tenants ex-wife) and had the trial as a background activity.

There's a good story in there somewhere, but it's just hidden amongst all the other stuff.

Much more obvious: not guilty, but then someone kills him, and finding out who is season three.
