They've been waiting to see what Eastenders would do and copy them. So kid did it, covered up by parent who took the blame then changed his mind

Out with a whimper rather than a bang then.

And now they drag it out for Series 3 when there's really no reason

I thoughts to was going to end with the Latimers killing Joe Miller, and the prosecution barrister getting them acquired for it in the next series, would have been a good ending IMHO.

Well, I quite enjoyed it - except for the smug defence bints gloating. Didn't like either of them throughout, so it's a shame they won so they could be even more smug.

Is it just me, or do they spend all series building up the suspense and then let it all go in a rush in the final episode?

Ah well, roll on series 3. I just hope the defence bints aren't in it. Or that odious little journalist creep. wink

What was the point about the prosecuting barrister (a) being a secret lesbian, (b) having eyesight trouble, (c) having aged parent trouble?

They were three storylines which went nowhere.

Who was looking after DI Miller's toddler throughout all at this, there were references to her throughout the series, she was seen at the end but who was looking after her during the series?

Something really small and insignificant but it really bugged me.

I think it was her sister, who was also looking after her son.

There were numerous references to childcare/childminders earlier in the series.
Same as any working mum with a toddler I suppose.

As long as the defence barrister isn't in it - she has to be one of the most wooden actresses ever - they could have give her part to a spoon and the court scenes would have been more believable.

yes

This unfinished business thing - they did that last time as well. Poor old Pauline Quirke never ends up with any kind of resolution, she just disappears every time! (I wonder what she did with Vince while she was in court?)

Anyway. Quite how Mark and Nige restrained themselves when dragging Joe out of the church, I don't know. I'd have been tempted to put the boot in. But then again, maybe they were both scared of Mark's missus. wink

I think they all led into her 'coming back to the world' as we saw at the end.

I thought they resolved that OK, but everything else was a 'Star Trek' ending.

Note to self, no matter what the missus says, DO NOT WATCH SERIES 3...

I think it redeemed itself in the last episode, the casting and acting is pretty damn god and though I'm pleased it's over I will miss it. The most disappointing aspect was the court room stuff and the unbelievable antics of the defence counsel, quite how the jury reached their verdict when the accused didn't even take the stand is beyond me, but it is television.

I reckon Tenant will stay in Broadchurch and start bonking Colman and together they will finally bring Joe to justice.

Having seen the ending, I think you're onto something.

Series 3 will probably re-visit the case and Plod's son will be exposed as his mate's killer...

Did they dig up the hip flask?

OK...it wasn't as good as the first season, but there's plenty worse on TV at the moment.

That's what I keep saying to the wife - it's not a patch on the first season but it's still better than 99% of rest of the garbage on TV.
