We commented at the time that the 'rape counselling in a cafe' scene was totally bizarre.

As is 'recently bereaved mother parachuted into a counselling job with no prior experience' but let that one ride!

How recent is it though? Its been 2 years since season 2 was screened, but what is the timeline in the series?

She has had long enough to come up to her first review period, would that be 3 months? 6 months?

I seem to recall someone mentioned 3 years had passed since S1's timeline, but I could have been mistaken.

I seem to recall 3 years being mentioned too - wasn't it when Beth was telling Mark about the compensation cheque?

Wouldn't it be funny if Hardy were the culprit? Or better still, Miller! hehe

That's Ellie Miller though, not Joe. wink

Do you think they have been told to put on a slightly over the top West Country accent as it does seem slightly too obvious.

It would seem a new suspect turns up just before the adverts - goner be a big list the way things are panning out.

Thank goodness they took their time developing this one. Miles more engaging than S2, and everyone still suffering long-term consequences from S1. Good stuff.

Sex party is becoming much more obvious IMO.

Also... Kids watching the porn... Guess what they have managed to get their hands on.. And will end up being used as evidence.

Add in the husband wanting to wipe his laptop... It's looking seedy on the south coast!

O/T. Great music. Wouldn't be half as good without it. (And if you say 'what music'... it's THAT good).

Olafar Arnalds does most of the music.

This live performance is a relaxing half hour with some amusing crowd participation.

He's a nice guy, I've seen him live in London a couple of times.

I thought it really reminiscent of some of those great tracks they use in "Nordic Noirs" - I've been known to go out of my way to get hold of Choir of Young Believers and "Hollow Talk", for example.

If ever you want to really "chill" (as the youngsters of today are wont to say), what a great place to start. Adds significantly to drawing your mind in to empathise with stuff...... Good feel good entertainment to contrast the drama. thumbup

Indeed, reminds me of the sound track to 'The Bridge'.

Couple of questions after last night's episode as I can't remember the details from previous series 2/3 years ago:

What had happened with Hardy's daughter that meant that Chloe Latimer went to see her "as a friend" to talk to? Or, is this a new thread of storyline for us and given who Hardy's daughter has been hanging around with, has she been attacked as well?

And then... what do we think is happening with the son of the taxi driver who is also the friend of Miller's son? He did NOT like the porno that he was being shown last week...

but also... now we have to consider there's a convicted offender in the area who likes the annoying smart-arse girl cop?

^^^ with varying degrees of certainty/guesswork....

1 Bullied in new school
2 Abused by father?
3 But he would have been inside when previous "new" rape, so he's just a red herring?

Cracker of a story developing!

I'm wondering whether Trish's best friend Cath might have something to do with the rape......set it up in order to punish Trish? Cath just seems too good to be true, and few in Broadchurch are ever what they seem......

I'm wondering why the annoying new detective doesn't want anyone to know Lenny Henry is her dad, and why she went round to talk to him after seeing his name was on the list of party attendees. I'm sure she's up to no good - but mostly because she's an irritating brat. wink
