I used to enjoy this show but the last two episodes I've seen have been pretty poor.

The writer(s) must have changed.

Shame but I don't think I'll be watching it again - apart from old ones on "Dave" maybe.

Cheers,

Eric smile

Episode 3 picks up a bit, but agreed, Ep 2 especially was cringeworthy.

Thought Lucy's (Sally Bretton) offer of doing an impression of a (pocket) Bunny Rabbit should have gone down well wink

I think it's struggling a little since Tim Vine left, though after the daft things they had him doing in the last series I can understand why he did.

IMHO Katy Wix is the real star - how the hell she manages to keep a straight face while delivering Daisy's lines is incredible ( I think her statement after delivering the pheasant plucker speech was actually an outtake they decided to leave in as it was so funny )

It would have been funnier if they hadn't beeped out the 'fk'. I do appreciate there is some irony in complaining about this on a forum that will censor the word 'fk'. Oddly enough, I have seen episodes where swearing isn't beeped - one memorable incident when Lucy asks Barbara the cleaner (Miranda Hart) to work overtime at Christmas; Barbara looks at her for a few seconds and replies "fk off!".

Yes, episode 3 was a lot better than the one before. I don't think the writers have changed, but I was surprised that Tim Vine wasn't involved in the writing, or credited at least.

The ski lift one was a terrible episode. To be fair to them episode 3 was much much funnier.

I never really got this show. Perhaps I didn't give it a chance. Lee Mack always seems very funny when on chat shows, or HIGNFY, or stand up but I just didn't find it funny.

Last weeks was good. I think the new series has been better than I recall the last one being.

One series, I think it was the last one, was commissioned at short notice (having been axed) by the BBC and Lee Mack didn't have much time to write it with his touring commitments. The last series also suffered from being the first one without Tim Vine. Current run is a return to form, enjoying it.

Sally Bretton is the only reason I need to watch it - it helps that the character she plays is a perfect woman I guess.
