One of the best things ever on TV. Really deserves to be better known.

This was a great show. Anyone get the backstory to Kai Proctor's bespectacled hitman/butler?

Loved this first time around. Stunning series with great characters that didn't drag on too long.

Burton was a brilliant character, they don't actually let you in on how savage he is for a while either.

Ivana Miličević (Carrie) is in the latest Strike Back. She's almost unrecognisable compared to her in Banshee and theres only been 4 years since the end of filming and SB

She looked 'rough' in The 100, too, although may have been make up effects..

Just ordered all 4 seasons on Blu ray, as they are using up quite a bit of space on my Sky HDD...

Was only telling a friend about Banshee the other day, as he'd never seen/heard of it. One of my favourite series, and introduced me to some great music too (as did Sons Of Anarchy).

She was 38 when she filmed Banshee (shes 46 now), thought she was a few years younger than that (i.e. 38-40 now).

Ah, OK, so not looking too bad then, when considering age, plus all the more power to her for not going for the 'Identikit' 40 something actress look who all have had the exact same implants, making them all look 'odd'

Another thing I didn't realise until yesterday is that Antony Starr plays Homelander in The Boys (highly recommended), a great performance, but hadn't realised it was the main guy from Banshee!

I thought it was good but emotionally lacking.

It was like a polished A-Team. Baddies in town, fight, sex repeat. All a bit basic and brainless.

7/10 glad I watched it but a level below the great boxsets like BB, GOT& Sopranos.

Will somebody kindly verify that the above comment is accurate

Don't want to start watching it to only be pissed off about it

Why don't you decide for yourself?

"I'm not watching it because someone on the Internet said it's not very good". rolleyes

Or maybe watch the first and last episodes and then see if you want to fill in the bit in the middle?

If it is All a bit basic and brainless I'm out before I'm in

It definitely won't be difficult for an intelligent person to verify

I don't know if you use IMDb but it's always useful as a guide

In this case nearly 100,000 people have deemed it worthy of 8.4/10

So it's probably worth a few episodes to see if you gel with it

Appreciated, have used IMD in the past and Rotten Tomatoes

Rotten Tomatoes audience ratings are also very high but like IMD have failed me in the past

As you comment, will view a few and.........

If you don't like sex, violence, sex and violence or swearing then give this a swerve (nearest mainstream TV in that regard is, I suspect, GoT). Watch the 1st episode (it's less than an hour) and it'll set the scene for the rest of the series. We both found the whole series very worthwhile and unlike much else on TV (at that time)
