Which episode you seen?

Think ive given up on it being as good as the movies and just taken it as being a rehash of other tv programmes/nothing thats not been done before by other programmes

That was pretty much what I was expecting anyhoo. Plus lil promos for the Marvel brand.

I have higher hopes for Gotham.

It'd really bad isn't it. The CGI wouldn't look out of place in an Asylum movie and it has got to have a bigger budget than that. I can't work out where the money went

Yep seen the first couple of episodes. The effects are crap, it's too light compared to the films and the characters are annoying (and mostly acted quite crap too!)

What a shame!

I really don't mind it for what it is. They had two choices, dark and gritty, light and prime time. There's been a fair bit of dark and gritty on TV later so there's nothing wrong with option one.

I fear it won't go beyond series 1-2 though, the movies are just too big and no TV show no matter what money they throw at it will be able to live in that shadow.

Well that episode was much better. The appearance at the end was brilliant.

Just watched ep2. Slightly more coherent but stand by my comments from last week...it seems to be mainly a 90's style crappy "enemy of the week" episodic action drama with bad effects, cheap action and zero excitement.

The 'science' pair of Keira Knightley's geeky younger sister and generic scottish engineer 101 may well go down as the most irritating TV pairing of the decade.

Sigh.

The worst route they could take.

Buffy S1 was pretty dire. It didn't hit its stride until S3. Firefly and Dollhouse didn't get that far.

I think with Joss Wheedon it pays to be patient.

Issue with that is it's so high budget that it'll get canned before it has a chance to warm up.

If it were something else, maybe. But this is tied to the films (loosely, I realise). I can't see it getting canned; the adverse publicity for the films would be too damaging.

watched both epis, enjoyed both epis. It's not going to rival Shakespeare but sometimes all you want is a little fun - this provides it for me

Exactly this for me too...and is staying light hearted which it has to IMO. Tenner says Gotham just takes itself waaay to seriously......

I'm just watching the 2nd episode on 4HD - Coulson clearly makes a remark about having an "after-life" crisis, so ther is a bit to develop there!

This whole Tahiti twist, and calling it a magical place, makes me think did he go to Asgard (place Thor is from?)

Not in a spoiler as it isn't a spoiler and me speculating
