And so it f**king starts, christ I hate American scheduling. Random week where it wasn't aired. Why do they do that?!

Usually sports related or might be to do with the election and the VP debate last night. When the actual election comes around expect nothing for 2-3 weeks.

Confused about the ending of E2. The scientists didn't seem to have done much wrong?
Just the one dealt with? He was trying to kill Mack, Fitz, and whatever else could be affected by that reactor thingy.

It's down to the scheduling of 20-23 episodes across 30 odd weeks. Usually the show is aired late September and continues until Mid may. Given the Presidential elections are this year that will interfere with transmissions and cull a few weeks. They also save what they reckon are good episodes for the months of November, February, May and July Which are the "Sweeps", months when the ratings are analysed more closely than at other times of year. So expect to see more new episodes in November and February and also the Season Finales coincide with the May Sweeps.

The usual Solution when an new episode isn't available is to repeat a previous episode of this run but the Presidential debates are allowing them to forego that method. For CBS it's problematic as NCIS airs at 8.00 Eastern time which allowed them to air a "new" episode. But "Bull" and NCIS:NOLA have to wait a week.
