Its more of a people / back story programme than a sci fi why the hell is a dome on us and why cant we dig ourselves out - stinks of "Lost" which was a waste of my life before I realised the writers made it up as it went along and binned it.

Next week better be good

The acting is awful. Like a sci-fi Crossroads! And I wish the orchestra that keeps playing the stupid dramatic music every 10 seconds were outside the dome. Can see me giving up on this although I'll probably watch the third episode.

Yep, enjoyed the first one, but lasted half of the second one.

What bothers me with this is there doesn't seem to be a definite ending - they will keep making series until people stop watching it (or something along those lines!). I can just see it going more and more away from the book and getting bored with it!

It's a bit odd, the characters the same names as those in the book, but don't quite fit. The town and dome are how I imagined them though. I'll give it a few more weeks...

It ends when the dome disappears?.

I haven't read the book and didn't really start watching with any expectations, so it's not too bad as filler TV. This will change when characters start to annoy me. That psycho kidnapper and the Lenny Kravitz wannabe DJ will probably be the first ones to do that.

It would probably work if you haven't read the book. If you have, I think it's just too different to be enjoyable certainly for me anyway.

I'm hoping it'll be better than the book which had a rather rushed ending.

It's a dome, how come the temperature inside hasn't had everyone sweating yet?

Altough "Junior" annoys me...why did he suddenly go psycho? Is it explained more fully in the book, or does it even happen. And the actor must be basing his character on Bobby Briggs from Twin Peaks.

It is explained in the book, and he is a bit more mental if anything!

Very yes

A very horrible and disturbing nut job. Makes the guy on the TV seem are rather nice young man biggrin

Because they aren't putting as much thought into it as SK did in the book. TV thinks they know better, which is why I have given up on it - they haven't taken bits out as they are not important; they appear to have completely misunderstood what SK wrote.

In the book sound passes through easily, and some water & air passes through - and that is key to the whole way things develop.

I thought the ending was utterly crap, but not rushed laugh

Indeed, another reason it got turned off!

I'm have this faint hope that by reading this thread I'll see something to restore my faith in this show and start watching it again.

Unfortunately, I think that faint hope will need a nuclear bomb to power it back up frown

Did they?, I must have missed that bit.

Sound can't get through, smoke can't get through. Water seemed to seep through, but that was when there was a firehose blasted at it which would suggest Osmosis by pressure. Not sure there would be enough of an air pressure differential to force air through.

Who knows, the next episode may well be my last. smile
